What's Lupus?

Something to do with a wolf in Latin isn't it? :?

Discoid lupus erythematosus, a variation of systemic lupus erythematosus, an autoimmune disease sometimes affecting the skin, causing rashes, lesions, inflammation. The discoid variety specifically operates above the neck, on the face, and causes thick, scaly patches.
