Guest posting on this forum was ended back in August 2012, for many good reasons, and I supported it.

Now I'm doing a little project for a class I'm taking, and I chose as my subject to investigate the reasons surrounding that change.

Can anyone provide links to specific instances providing support for why this was done?

I've already gone through most of the Ask! thread, so don't worry about looking there.

I also have this gem about adding voices and animation to KS, as well as the reactions from one thread discussing Emi's route.

Thank you in advance for any help!

I remember the specific instigator of that change - an agile-IP spamflood of porn threads, which for obvious reasons are no longer available to link. :) If you decide to believe me, you'll have to take my word for it.

Well, that certainly doesn’t conflict with my recollection of the time. This will provide helpful material.

Actually, by itself, that’s probably enough. But if there are other notable incidents, I’d gladly look at them.

I’d actually like a little more information on this. Just what was the nature of this flooding? Thanks.

Dunno what I could freely add to that, what do you mean by "nature"? I actually went and checked the forum logs of the incident (they reach that far back, unbelievable) and found a few IPs and unregistered usernames, but I'm not disclosing those.

Sorry, I just wanted to know the nature of the actual posts. Like if they were links to porn or writings of porn.

Writings of porn require the target audience to be willing to read. That's too rare to be an effective spamming strategy.

No, just your garden-variety porn links and pics. As a correction, after reviewing the logs it was actually a spamflood of posts (as in, added to pre-existing threads), not threads.

Thought I’d let people know that I completed my project. Got a B+ in the class.
