Re: Ask!
Heyyy, merry christmas. I hope you're all having a good time with your loved ones (or alone)! It's christmas and I'm mildly drunk so here's a silly question. If you had to spend christmas, and all that encompasses for you, with one of the girls in the game, who would it be? Emi maybe? I think she w...

Re: Four Leaf Studios at Comiket 91
Magnetic train: the art books are usually about ¥300-500 depending on the size etc. I'll have paperbacks of Zemlya for about ¥1500 (as printing is pretty costly). Not sure about Weee/VCR Hivemind: yeah it is boggling when you think about it. People born when we started working on KS are almost old e...

Re: Four Leaf Studios at Comiket 91
I was on the fence about going to this Comiket because I have no experience with them, and wasn't sure if I wanted to buy the guidebook or stand in line for hours if I'm just going to wander. Then I remembered that KS had appeared at the previous Comiket when I wasn't in Japan, and I was about to m...

Maybe the journey is more important than the destination for them?

Re: A new novel by Cpl Crud
So, does Zemlya mean anything, or is it a word you made up? Per Wikipedia, it's a transliteration of the Ukrainian word for Earth. That may or may not be an intended reference here though. I've actually included this and a number of other explanations here (Beware, there are many spoilers ahead): h...

Re: A new novel by Cpl Crud
There is now a paperback available if anyone is into physical books. I have to admit Doom's cover looks great in the flesh. Apologies for the long link but this should get you directly to the paperback. If you buy the real book you should also be able to get the digital version for next to nothing h...

Re: Ask!
It was bit of a quirk that I had left over from the days of doing fan-subs. In translation it can be a bit of a useful tool, but I have since changed sides and I think that the "real" translators are able to find ways to have the same effect without jamming "-chan" in everywhere...

Re: Ask!
I seem to remember ke^4 fell prey to artist self-loathing. You know, "my stuff is shit, all I do sucks, I can't do this". Fairly common ailment. Self-criticism truly is a double-edged sword, on the one hand it's really good to have some, but you really need to moderate it or it will turn ...

Is there a PDF version available somewhere? Amazon only offers "Kindle" They offer apps for emulating kindle on phones but I dislike reading novels on small screens. There are Mac and PC versions of the Kindle app. It works pretty much exactly like a PDF reader, so that's what I've been u...

So, does Zemlya mean anything, or is it a word you made up? It's Russian for "land" or "Archipelago" It's based on Novaya Zemlya, which is where the biggest nuclear bomb was dropped. I'm going to release a "reader's guide" with all of these Easter Eggs when I release t...

PDFs are difficult to control and monetise.
There will be a paperback shortly though
