Re: Developments (Post-Lilly Neutral End) - Ch.49 posted 9/4

Eesh, looks like my Hanako ship took a torpedo. I'm with Lilly, Hisao has always and ever been a gentleman, and Hanako assuming he ditched the lot of them for a one night stand borders on idiot-ball. Of course, people do funny things when they're as stressed as she is, so I'll just have to hope for...

Re: Developments (Post-Lilly Neutral End) - Ch.49 posted 9/4

Heh, looks like Hanako's eagerness to be competitive has made her a bit paranoid. She needs a break. Lilly's right that she can't even really say anything to her in that state. To be fair though, Yoshimura replying to the call like that was really unfortunately timed. e: It really feels like Hanako'...

Re: Developments (Post-Lilly Neutral End) - Ch.48 posted 8/1

Hmm this may be my favorite Emi chapter yet. The conversation with Rin was ingenious. "Yeah, I...do want to be able to work with the...um...green art supplies. The problem is that...I think they might have already turned...um...purple?" Dem colors... This is like the perfect Rin dialog. Yo...

Re: Yamaku Book Club (Now Reading: Constant Companion)

^ Yeh true. Saying it's 'arguably' OOC was probably not my best choice of words as it pretty clearly is in certain cases. It's also rather far-fetched that Misha talk to the other important girls that much and has a little story to tell about each one of them, although I just accepted that as a mean...

Re: Yamaku Book Club (Now Reading: Constant Companion)

The fact that it was all dialogue didn't help much either. Misha just needed somebody to play off of. Anybody. Even if it was just Hisao's thoughts. See, I liked exactly that quite a bit. Relying only on Misha's dialogue to get a 'look' at Hisao was rather interesting to me. There's a bunch of stuf...

Re: Developments (Post-Lilly Neutral End) - Chapter 46 up 7/

The summer home was sold before the end of Lilly's route (Akira didn't even get to stay there with her boyfriend anymore)
Oh, couldn't remember that. Yeh that makes the first option the most likely one.

Re: Developments (Post-Lilly Neutral End) - Chapter 46 up 7/

Oh boy, if this was a horror movie we'd pretty much be at the point where the characters go "alright everyone, let's split up!" Nothing could possibly go wrong with that manly picnic... right? Anyways, great chapter. On a first impression almost nothing feels odd either. Almost though, as ...

Re: Developments (Post-Lilly Neutral End) - Chapter 45 up 7/

One interpretation to me is that Miss Yumi wants Hanako to ask herself if she really genuinely loves who Hisao is or rather just fell for him because he's the first boy being so close and caring to her and... considering her past, that may be all it takes for her to become infatuated. That's not eve...

Re: Developments (Post-Lilly Neutral End) - Chapter 45 up 7/

You know, at the beginning of this chapter I thought to myself "the characters so far are so well established that I feel like I'm understanding (in this case) Hisao's thoughts quite well, even if it's Hanako's point of view". Not only that, it never feels like only the current PoV's chara...

Re: Yamaku Book Club (Now Reading: Mendācium)

Yup. I just remember this story having a Hanako so OOC that it becomes somewhat pointless discussing the scenario.

Re: Yamaku Book Club (Now Reading: A Future)

I was actually pleasantly surprised about Shizune not being Yamaku's principle for once ;P

Gotta agree with Emi's encounter though. Not only was it clear who that physical therapist would be, but they also had to pump into each other, heh.

Re: Yamaku Book Club (Now Reading: A Future)

You know, when people say sex scenes are hard to write and you look at the one featured in this story, you know that's someone who can write real good. I'm not necessarily a fan of that kind of premise but it was done really well. Unlike usually the case when there's something going wrong/bad with H...

Re: Yamaku Book Club (Now Reading: A Future)

Damn it, just now I finished reading Salvage, which ... yikes, I remembered it being better than that. The Hisao in that story, talk about a snarky and oblivious smartass. I think every single canon character (except maybe Emi) was out of character to some degree. There were times that I wondered i...
