Re: Hanako's Broken Heart Club

azumemow, I think you want to change and improve your life. That you have a history with this girl and things seem to sort of go okay with you means you see her as a springboard for doing this - but do you really expect it can last? After all this shit? Or is she the nearest convenient person to gra...

Re: Emi inspired running/workout

First session by myself today. An hour on the stationary bike is a lot harder than riding a real one, there's not nearly as much variation, no breeze (no fans nearby in the gym). It's also not as comfortable, and damn boring! I don't have a tablet on which to watch movies so I was stuck with my iPod...

Re: Emi inspired running/workout

Final personal training session complete. I've learned a lot, learned some good moves, he showed me how to use some machines, it was all good. Unfortunately, gyms are a business too, so he had to hard sell me on more training. 72(!!!) more sessions, either twice or thrice a week. Just under $4400. U...

Re: Hanako's Broken Heart Club

“The one” and “whoever is right for you” are not the same thing. The one is a mythical construct, whoever is right for you is just that. This is just playing with semantics. These aren't terms etched onto stone tablets, so trying to draw a line in the sand between the two is kind of moot. If we wan...

Re: Hanako's Broken Heart Club

Problems with believing in “the one”: -unrealistically high standards meaning you outright reject people or don’t give them a chance. How do you even know what you like in a relationship or what your ideal is if you don’t have any experience? Hisao and whichever of the girls he nailed with your guid...

Also there is no "the one". That is a vile, damaging and basically ridiculous concept invented for movies and How I Met Your Mother.
The first legitimate tidbit to come along in a while.

Re: Does Shizune Know..?

Shizune (and other deaf folks) are often very aware of how to produce sound and get a reaction from hearing people. Snapping fingers, clapping hands, knocking on a table. I know several signs for fart, all of which show the physicality of gas being passed. Poor guy in your story not realizing strike...

Re: Random KS Discussion

One year my high school's yearbook had a "nothing club" in which they listed every student who wasn't involved in anything. Badge of honour, I felt.

Re: Real-life Emi

 That's not really what I meant. Although with the way TV and movies tend to portray older women, some women seem to let themselves give up on their own beauty by age 30. :? Not something I like but it's sadly noticeable trend. Giving up on looking after yourself and your appearance will make ...

Re: Emi inspired running/workout

It's okay at the moment. The trainer knows it has an old injury and I will be reminding him tonight.

EDIT: A few of the movements during the assessments hurt, but otherwise it went pretty well. I also found out my body fat is 14%.

Women don't instantly become decrepit old hags in their 30s.

Yeah, deafblind.

Shizune is deaf, and implied to be mute by choice.
Deafmute is generally considered to be an offensive term. 'deaf' is sufficient for Shizune.
