Re: Design your character!

These people are huge. I mean, abso-fucking-loutely massive. Average height isn't as much in Japan, and if they're of entirely (or primarily, in Yuno's case) Japanese blood, these heights are almost freakish. As a point of comparison, my character, at 5'10", would be taller than basically ever...

Re: Katawa Shoujo: The Journey (Recruiting)

Okay, well, I bit the bullet and recorded an audition . It's also posted in the KSJourney thread you pointed out. I'm using a battered headphone mic I have for online gaming, so the recording quality isn't fantastic, but it didn't sound awful to me, either. EDIT: I added my audition for Nurse , too.

Re: What hurts the most?

Of course the biggest hurt is after finishing an arc and you snap back to reality and remember that none of it is real. *sigh* That's mine. The song "Romance in Andante" is a beautiful song, and whenever I hear it I tear up because I think of the ending credits sequence where you see the ...

Re: Katawa Shoujo: The Journey (Recruiting)

I missed out on Katawa Seiyu, and I regretted it, but unfortunately I'll probably miss out on this, too. I would love to audition for Mutou (deep voice, same age range, some acting experience), but I don't have any decent recording equipment. So I guess I'll have to settle for wishing you the best o...

Re: Katawa Shoujo/Koe no Katachi Crossover

That's a lot of good information, there - thanks! I'll have to mull that over and see if I can't apply that in my next drawing.

Re: Katawa Shoujo/Koe no Katachi Crossover

Thanks! The proportions were definitely something I was struggling with, and have been ever since I started drawing the KS girls. I'm still trying to get a feel for the appropriate head-to-body ratio that will convey the correct age as well as having a shoujo look, as well as a couple of other issues.

Re: Koe no Katachi: A manga about a deaf girl in public scho

Looks like it was just a one-shot. The creator has apparently done artwork on another book ( Mardock Scramble ), but this is the only thing I could find that she both wrote and drew. Unfortunate, because this was released in 2011. Maybe she doesn't feel very confident in her storytelling? I know th...

I'm pretty sure that's the first time I've ever been called that. But thank you very much!

My own knowledge of what's out there is fairly limited, and I've never seen anything like this story in manga before....

Katawa Shoujo/Koe no Katachi Crossover

Inspired by this comic, mentioned in this thread, I felt compelled to create a response tonight.

Re: The Mutou Appreciation Thread

I always liked Mutou, from the very first time he meets Hisao. My respect for him grew through Hanako's path, of course, and one of the sad elements of Rin's path for me was that Hisao never connects with him. Of course, I also liked the Nurse from the start, too. Hmm...maybe I'm creepy, too? The lo...

Re: What else made you cry?

A number of things, though what comes to mind at the moment is scenes in the Lord of the Rings movies, and pretty much the entirety of Les Misérables (both the musical and the latest movie). Angela Orosco, from Silent Hill 2. Oof, yeah, I get that. Her last scene... The reading of Mary's full letter...

Re: Koe no Katachi: A manga about a deaf girl in public scho

Thanks for posting this, Caesius. That was so well-done, in drawing, writing and visual storytelling. Definitely not written by one of those people who think that children are naturally angelic creatures (anyone who's been around them for very long knows they can be as sadistically cruel and treache...
