Re: What Emi does for Rin
Don't worry, English is not my native language either... About side effects they vary from person to person and from pill to pill. Some people adapt perfecly to a pill other might don't like them. Some adapt to them so well that take pills just for convenience even if they are not sexually active. A...

Well it would suprise me that she might be taking pills for phantom pains sense most limless people have them. Or any other meds becouse of how she acts XD But the biggest reason is that pills like that... aint that good for your body and sense there is always a nurse around. Dont think she will be...

Other then that i guess taking stuff from a to b is the most that she helps with.

Re: Is there a middle ground?
Lol, batman doesn't count! http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_l8hxzb23gE1qbq6uyo1_500.jpg ] Anyway, even with all those problems there are lip readers that can do a surprisingly good job at it. I guess lip reading is like trying to talk in a noisy place. Part of the sentence is lost in the noise but ...

Re: Is there a middle ground?
What Yukimi said. Also I said that 1/3 was understandable, that makes 2/3 (well over half) the conversation unintelligible or, indeed, misleading. Using situational context, a lipreader can understand the meaning of some things, but understanding a conversation with visual lip reading alone is prett...

Re: Is there a middle ground?
But by reading lips, even if 1/3 you can't distinguish perfectly what it is you still can narrow down to a smaller range of possibilities. That associated with context I think would be enough for a good undertandment. Not that I'm saying that it is easy. But people read lips in Portuguese and in Eng...

Re: Is there a middle ground?
Yeah, I guess because Japanese and Chinese share the same ideograms people assume that they are similar in speak too but they are totally different languages that happen to share part of their characters. It's like think that English and Russian are similar because they share some of their characters.

Re: Is there a middle ground?
There was a discussion on this earlier. Lip reading is...imperfect at best. Even for an average person who is familiar with listening to and speaking the language, lip reading is hardly spot on all the time. Asian languages also suffer from being composed of a fairly narrow set of monosyllabic comp...

Re: What Emi does for Rin
I'd guess that Rin's learned to do nearly everything herself. Doors and shirts may be difficult, but you don't go through life armless without picking up a few tricks. It's just easier with Emi's help, thus the shoes/suit pairing of the Rin and Stumpy duo. As long as it isn't one of those round doo...

Re: Is there a middle ground?
Actually that sounds very reasonable. The amount of diferent sounds is lower tan most languages but on the other hand this makes for other possible problems. As they have less diferent sounds, they some times make the duration important to increase the number of difernt words. One typical example i...

Re: What Emi does for Rin
Rin doesn't seems to me like the kind of person who would study hard for exams. I guess she just memorizes what she finds to be interesting and doesn't bother with learning the other stuff (unless Emi forces her to do so). I think that Rin is one of those people that could get top grades if they wa...
