Re: How well with KS stand up to the other great VN?
True, KS is unlikely to get any trouble from the backgrounds, firstly because it is (as you said) free, and secondly because it is such a small project. In Japan, small armies can be amassed at the slightest reference in a doujin game or something. In comparison, the english speaking anime, manga, v...

Re: Misha's disabillity?
Going to the school for free is a tad odd also since it means that she is either being paid by Shizune's parents or else the school give out scholarships to people to come be translators. I'm probably picking at the idea too much, but I am more for Misha being the translator simply because she is ve...

Re: Misha's disabillity?
I find it pretty unlikely that Misha is actually employed by the school as Shizune's interpreter. It doesn't make sense for the school to hire interpreters for every deaf student they have, and it makes even less sense for Shizune to have a personal interpreter if the other students don't. It also s...

Re: How well with KS stand up to the other great VN?
Okay, I think this at least is getting a little silly. Concerning the "I don't think there is/haven't seen another VN with filtered photos for backgrounds": TSUKIHIME . I even remember a Japanese site where people had hunted down more or less all the locations where the photos were taken,...

Re: How well with KS stand up to the other great VN?
Drawn backgrounds are useful for a number of reasons. Firstly (as has been previously mentioned) there are a lot of legal issues with using photography. KS and other minor projects may go under the radar, but big name companies will certainly attract flak for using certain locations. The second reas...

Re: Misha's disabillity?
As far as I am aware, most public schools on the west coast of america in a city of any substantial size have facilities like tracks, pools, tennis courts etc... Still, Yamaku's facilities seem better than a regular school judging by their gate and the interior of the hallways and stuff (I honestly ...

Re: How well with KS stand up to the other great VN?
Well, most higher budgeted ones just produce drawn backgrounds. Also, its kind of annoying for a studio to have to send a photographer out to take pictures of scenery all the time. In general, I think that hand drawn backgrounds are also more popular.

Re: Shizune's cell phone
Ok, a pen and paper have undeniable functionality for Shizune in some situations. She can write something and show it to people or make a note to give to someone. I'm just saying that it would be rather odd for her to not have a cellphone as well. It just seems like something that most people would ...

Re: Misha's disabillity?
Have you seen the facilities? I mean, sure, I live in New Zealand (Therefore putting its technology level into shit-all department), but a High school that a) has a track and b) has a pool and c) has a dorm section and d) Isn't a shitty building or staff school is something that most anyone would b...

Do you work with artillery or something? My uncle was a marine and he worked with such things for a while. His hearing went downhill as well.

Re: Shizune's cell phone
you can still type something and then show it to the person if you need to use it like that. That way you don't need to worry about running out of paper or ink. A cellphone is also more compact. A simple pen and paper does have its uses though.

Re: Misha's disabillity?
I do wonder how many non-disabled children would choose to attend a school specifically tailored for disabled children. It doesn't seem like the kind of place parents would choose and it isn't a public school either. I could see the children of the staff maybe attending, but it doesn't make sense fo...

Re: Shizune's cell phone
Ah, i think I recall her writing the list of paint supplies for Hisao on it. Or was that just a sheet of paper, I can't recall. That said, it wouldn't be unreasonable for her to have a cellphone and notepad/pen. I guess a cute stationary and fountain pen does fit with her wanting to look good.
