Re: Genderbender: Katawa Shonen

@blackrising That said, why would it not make sense to swap the characters genders? Most all the characters have personalities that are easily transferred to a male version. If you are going through the trouble of basing the story on KS, why make entirely new people, and if you are making entirely ...

Re: Katawa Shoujo Will be Released on January 4th, 2012

Gotta love South hemisphere and its summer breaks at the end of the year/beginning of the next year. You guys from the North are really weird. Hey now. Them igloos can be real cozy, eh, and those polar bears are real friendly. You should take a spin out Canada. I'll even make you some flapjacks wit...

that feel when you work graveyard shift from Jan 3rd to Jan 8th Fuck you kids ;_; Hey now, I work graveyard shift by choice... I'm always closing at work too. Usually I get out of work sometime between 10-2AM, and stay up until 2 AM at least. I use to have school during the morning, but since I'm o...

Re: Your natural choice

My first playthrough, I was looking to get someone and ended up dead, with my brains across the lawn. It was mostly due to Hisao's habit of going nuts over seemingly harmless choices. I ended up with Shizune afterwards, for which I am glad. I'm still not entirely sure he died. We didn't see any ind...

Re: Genderbender: Katawa Shonen

^ That's what I find most interesting, how gender would change the character. What about them would be the same? As much as I do enjoy fanart, of course. I, however, disapprove of all the ponytails I'm seeing. I don't dig long hair on dudes. Especially Man Lilly, I don't like him looking all sissy....

Re: Gaming Journalism

Destructoid recently had a small article about KS, and may end up writing a review for it. Nothing we haven't already heard, but personally I never get tired of seeing comments from baffled gamers trying to wrap their minds around the concept (although a surprisingly large number of commenters on t...

Re: Katawa Shoujo Will be Released on January 4th, 2012

Say, I was skimming the thread, and maybe I missed it, but when is the game going to be released GMT-wise? I'm at GMT +8, and I need to know just so I can apply for leave (workplace policy says I have to apply 3-7 days before the day itself). It wasn't said. They haven't chosen a specific time. So ...

that feel when you work graveyard shift from Jan 3rd to Jan 8th Fuck you kids ;_; Hey now, I work graveyard shift by choice. It's quiet. I hate noise and crowds. My schedule gives me Thursdays and Fridays off though. So when I come home early on the 5th, I know what I'll be doing as the sun rises. ...

Re: how will you guys pass the time

Other games, work, working on the comic and play I'm writing, and spending time with family for Christmas. That'll take up the vast majority. Fit in some movies and tv shows. Oh, and eating and sleeping will take up a big chunk. Forgot that. Then there's my trips to the toilet...etc. Overall, not a...

Re: Gaming Journalism

Also, mainstream games journalists don't do reviews of Visual Novels ... It all depends on how you define game. A visual novel on a gaming console would get reviewed. Heavy Rain for the PS3 is also not much of a game. It's literally a more cinematic visual novel. Sort of a "choose your own adv...

Re: Gaming Journalism

While I would be personally curious to read such a review, I'm not sure if it will do any good. It may only hurt the game's image. But, I could be wrong. And even if it gets a bad score, it may still boost it's audience. I mean, how many horribly reviewed movies went on to develop a cult following? ...

Re: Your natural choice

Of course, Freud was also addicted to cocaine...another reason us psychology folk make fun of him. Cocaine does explain many of his theories though. Perhaps. Although some theories suggest Freud didn't even believe his theories himself. Some of his earlier theories (which were actually more reasona...
