Can't immagine much else that would make her angry enough to punch someone other than some sort of bullying or harrasment, and Katsuo doesn't seem the type. Probably because it's something she would almost certainly do. Find a way to also involve pissing off Lilly and you've got the trifecta.

He's somewhat aware of Hanako's past dealings with Miya, so it makes sense he'd want to give her some forewarning (especially considering her 'Hanakoness') so it doesn't become a huge problem later. Perhaps it's just the verbalization of non-verbalities (or just being far too poetic in your metaphor...

That's not true... there have been a few good end continuations (not recently), typically involving meeting one or the other set of parents.

Still that's not surprising. The neutral end is the one that feels most honest, harsh as that may be.
