Really? Huh, that's weird, the wiki pretty much described him as being a big narcissist. Bah. Yeah, he is presented as a narcissist in the game, but that's just how it appears since you are playing as Lenneth. If you look at it out of Lenneth's view, he appears as just obsessed over Lenneth herself...

as for the chapter overall, it was pretty funny to read.
