hyugafan wrote:where do you guys run anyway?
I run here. This is approximately in the middle of the patch commonly called The Pipeline around here. End to end, it's about 2.15 km. It gets muddy after rain in some parts, but it's an awesome place.

Re: Emi inspired running/workout

So noones jumping rope? :( Everyone understimates how much you can get done with a $5 rope The horrible and very real fear of tripping and trying to break the floor with my face prevents me from spending time with jump rope. Yes, I realize that jumping in place dramatically reduces the chances of f...

Re: Emi inspired running/workout

WOoooo, done with day 1 of week 5, I can actually feel that I'm getting better. I ran today without any major problems. I'm looking at day 3 and it seems to be a big jump from running 8, walking 5 and run 8, to be runing for 21 minutes. Can someone tell me how they managed on the third day of week ...

Re: Emi inspired running/workout

Heyo, long time no post!

Back from Sakura-Con and I've learned my lesson from last week. I'm going to take an extra two days of rest from the weekend and resume my runs on Wednesday. I'd run tomorrow, but I don't want to ruin my M/W/F thing I have going. Rest is a part of exercise, after all.

Re: Emi inspired running/workout

@gRaViJa - Huge props for getting out there and really racing. I bet it burned something awful, but it felt good right? @ook - I keep secretly hoping someone will come up to me and mention how they've noticed my running and compliment me or something. I'm glad you got to talk to someone about it. @N...

On a related note: Running in rain or wet conditions isn't so bad so long as you're careful not to slip on grass or anything. I haven't slipped yet but there's a few muddy patches I'm wary of during my wet runs.

Re: Emi inspired running/workout

During my W7D1 run I only managed to go 15ish minutes before exhaustion kicked in. Turns out that attempting to run after returning from a convention results in dizziness, nausea, and a substantially lower amount of energy than I'm used to. My better judgement eventually beat my pride after the seco...

Re: Emi inspired running/workout

You guys are awesome. I love seeing how often this thread keeps getting bumped up to the top and I especially love seeing new people 'on the track' as it were. As for me, I just finished ECCC which was just exhausting. I'm... interested to see how tomorrow's run is going to go since I'll be starting...

Re: Emi inspired running/workout

I am too heavy for running, I hike in the mountains and I bike. Biking will be fine, I guess. But no sports tomorrow, that's for sure. By the way, here is a small impression of the hike, pretty eerie, isn't it? -img snipped- Well that's certainly creepy... I love it! I have some free time this week...

Re: Emi inspired running/workout

aiaiaiai if your wrists are hurting you are not doing it properly and you could injure yourself, try putting your hands farther apart and rest your weight on the fatty sides of your palm. you could do it on your fists but that feels really weird Thanks for the heads up. If I wasn't in good form tha...

Re: Emi inspired running/workout

Pulled off 22 good form push-ups on the initial challenge before my wrists started screaming at me to stop. I did it on carpet so when I start the program sometime next week, I'll give it a go on my fists. With the C25K program nearing an end for me, I welcome another way to push myself :D

Re: Emi inspired running/workout

Just finished Day 2 of Week 4. The last 2-3 minutes of my route are up a very steep hill, and Week 4 is the first week in which I am required to run up it instead of walk. The hill was pretty bad on Day 1, but today it was nearly impossible. In the last minute of my run, I was absolutely exhausted ...

@Bigbishounen - If you can throw out an arrow-to-the-knee you're fine. I'm glad to hear you're not limping anymore! @NoOne3 - Heh, I never get tired of that picture, meme or no. @NL-=3 - Woo! Keep it up :D Today I finished up W6D2 and I am glad - oh so glad - that I'm now at the point where I no lon...

Re: Emi inspired running/workout

I like to run alone, its nice, its just you and your music player and the tracks (or the park in my case), you can focus on your breathing and pacing, its soothing. Usually i run with a friend of mine, but it feels, i don't know, better when I'm running alone. I feel ya. I've always been kind of a ...
