Re: If you *actually have* a physical disability, what is it?
(EDIT: Once again, I just want to mention I am not a doctor and I might actually have no idea what I am talking about. So if someone knows better then me, feel free to share) I guess looking at these sites would help: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gigantism Also about the hormone that causes this: h...

Re: Katawa Shoujo Panel at the Manifest Anime Convention
Yep, I was tempted for a second to ask about pictures from the panel until I realized it was sounding like I was angling for pics of them. That struck me as a bit too "internet Stalker-ish" for my tastes. But I'd love to see anything related to KS, so I figured if they were behi...

Re: If you *actually have* a physical disability, what is it?
Kicked in around age 9. After that I grew incredibly quickly and often had pain in my joints as a result. The doctor my parents took me to did some bloodwork, took some xrays and other tests involving big machines (only vaguely remembering most of it) and eventually just said "She'll be fine. ...

Re: If you *actually have* a physical disability, what is it?
My doc always mentions how odd it is that my body is in proportion to my height. I'm guessing its uncommon in people with this condition. This question is just out of curiosity now that you mentioned it... does your doctor check you blood sugar/glucose when you visit him? I remember it quite a risk...

Re: If you *actually have* a physical disability, what is it?
I don't have a disability exactly but I did have an unusual hormonal disorder when I was younger that made me grow to a staggering height of six and a half foot by the time I was 16. Finding bras that properly fit was a real pain in the ass, the only ones made for someone with a torso my size are m...

Re: Hanako's disability is "cheap"?
"I know that Katawa Shoujo is a realistic game, with realistic characters." Its a dating sim with characters made for a dating sim that were made to be realistic in the context of a dating sim. They are not realistic in real life. It's the truth. The disabilities of the characters were de...

Re: Hanako's disability is "cheap"?
That's an AWESOME idea for some fanart/fanfiction there! Giving each character the disability of another. wonderful! Blind Rin! Arrhythmic Hanako! Legless Shizune! The possibilities are endless(well mathematically they are not, but there are still a lot of them). You have probably spawned an entire...

Re: Hanako's disability is "cheap"?
Emi and Hanako draw a sort of spectrum of how they handled their situations. At one end, Hanako has withdrawn from society, becoming a fragile, shy, recluse. Emi is at the other end, she grabs ahold of life and doesn't look back. She lives life fast, and as full as she can. It's almost as if she to...

Re: Hanako's disability is "cheap"?
Personally, as far as disabilities go, isn't Emi's the cheapest? I know prosthetic legs aren't a cure all, but considering the girl has no problem mobility-wise (hell she's probably faster then most people with real legs), how exactly is she disabled? ... Emi doesn't seem to have any psychological ...

Re: Hanako's disability is "cheap"?
Hanako's would be picked on by some of the students at a regular school, which brings up a question- why is Hanako at this school? Is she there for treatment,ie skin grafts, nerve treatments and therapy? Will she be reconstructed? Good question... the info in this thread might answer your questions h...

Re: Katawa Shoujo manga?...
Japanese humour is generally incredibly shit. It's even worse than American humour which is pretty shit itself. Even Indian humour ranks above Japanese humour. Imo, I think although there are rankings within humor i.e not funny, ok-funny and hilarious/rofl... the language and culture issue really d...

Of course... I agree with that, but I was answering G3n0c1de's question about healing so yes, the short term effects are a big dealElisaMasah wrote:Well this article clearly show that Hanako got lot of pain from her accident and the medical treatment, that indeed is not "cheap" or "pleasant".
