There wasn't any moment where I felt like there was no Hisao, only Zuul Threestep because Hisao's thoughts are so different from my own. Most the choices you get in the VN aren't ones I'd make at all. Like Hanako's route, or Misha's moment in Shizune's route or no realizing in Emi's that her dad is ...

Its not really my favorite, but "Caged Heart" is a pretty good "oh shit what's wrong" piece.

Sure, you could do it in theory. Avoid having to carry around a fuckhuge book by making Act 1 its own booklet, then each route has its own book. The question is, why would you bother? You're taking away the music and images, which add to the impact of the story.

Mine is either from Shizune's route where Akira, Hisao, Lilly and Shizune are fishing. Best part of the route and far as I'm concerned, that's what the ending should have been or Hanako with her birthday presents (either route, doesn't matter. Both heartwarming as hell).

This is exactly how I felt. KS was a pretty engrossing ride and I'm glad it came out, but in the end it was just a book with moving pictures.

I didn't pay for the main game, why would I pay for anything that comes after it?

Also, Jigoro wears a loud hawaiian T-shirt and a katana, he can't badmouth anyone's taste. I think a Katana allows you to badmouth almost everything. Only if you're an anime. Or an actual samurai back in shogunate-era Japan. Walking around with a katana today just means everyone gets to badmouth you.

Because one wacky asshole character wasn't enough for Shizune's route.
