Re: This game punched me in the philosophy.
There's so many goddamn messages in this game. It's funny, Jintor. I thought you were gonna bring up a whole different philosophical discussion. If OP wants to talk game theory, I'm gonna talk game theory, my man. I personally got gut-punched as well by the game but I don't feel capable of writing a...

Re: Timeline?
I'll start one up after I finish the Lily Route, which will probably be a few more days since I have stuff going on. But if anyone else wants to provide the base that's super cool. The best way to do it right now would be to mark out past --> hisao's arrival and then divide the timeline along choice...

Re: This game punched me in the philosophy.
The way I see it, games have three primary sources of enjoyment - mechanical enjoyment (derived from the interaction of gameplay systems), moment-to-moment aesthetic enjoyment (derived from the at-any-given-time quality of art, music, writing etc) and long-term narrative enjoyment (derived from a br...

Re: Ask!
Is the music recordings of real instruments or MIDI/synth'd? Playing it by ear it sounds like the latter, but I am a complete idiot, so I've no real clue. This was answered earlier in the thread (too lazy to find,) where Aura said all of the tracks were synth'd on the computer. Thanks. I have to sa...

Hanako's is by far the most frightening, if that counts for anything.

Re: Who got Rin's good end first try?
I was destroyed at the end of Act 3.
When I say destroyed, I don't just mean that I got a bad end. I mean that I couldn't touch Katawa Shoujo for the rest of the day because I felt too emotionally drained to continue.

Re: Rin's Path discussion *spoilers*
Just finished Rin's route a few days ago. Decent, but wish it addressed the MC's heart condition more...the writer seemed to have entirely forgotten about it, and its almost a joke near the end when Rin just randomly reminds the MC about the heart thing and the MC is just like "oh right, I do ...

Re: Online Japanese KS reception
Yeah, but - like someone said - if Japan had released a visual novel called "Kike Girl" imagine the 4chan comments. People would probably laugh at it and joke about how much of an awesome name it is, or spam threads about the visual novel with A Wyatt Mann's 'Nobody Wants, Nobody Likes Ki...

I think If you read the legal mumbo-jumbo you'll see the whole thing is bound in a creative commons licence, which basically means 'spread for free, but no adaptations (outside of fair use) without asking'... if I'm interpreting it correctly.
Oh, and you can't claim to be the creators.

Re: Fundamental design flaw
It really hurt to play the Emi route and have Rin right there and be totally unable to talk to her. I'm trying to conjure up some coherent way to integrate all the paths into a single storyline, but it just comes out looking like a harem anime where Hisao is the designated protagonist. Looks like my...
