Re: Katawa Shoujo Virgin heroine?

All the girls have been deflowered by gigantic space horse demons with twelve pus-festering dicks spewing poisonous semen. Hisao gets sloppy seconds. Only one thing is missing in this statement for perfection to be attained: "I am the lead writer of this VN, so that makes it holy canon!" ...

Re: Music that makes you think of KS

An oldie, but a goodie. Knew of it before, but then it came up recently in a fairly well-known episode of Genndy Tartakovsky called Lessons in Love. The episode was fairly well-known due to the absolutely disgusting scene of...a high schooler shaking her ass to some music. Rather than being known fo...

Re: I finished Katawa Shoujo and can't get my friends to pla

I just started playing KS a few weeks before dem final exams, I can now say it was a veery bad idea. I never thought it'd make me feel so hard. I told my best friend I'll get him to play it after the finals. Can't wait to get over this. Yeah, it definitely pays to have a relatively clear schedule b...

Re: Help with extras?

Well for one im on windows 7, and two, how does skip mode work? Okay, the OS shouldn't be a problem then. Skip mode is, basically, an option you should have displayed in your menu when you press 'Esc' while reading the VN. It tells the application to skip through all the parts, that you have previo...

Re: Piro's Blog

Yes, the glacial update schedule is why I don't check the site regularly anymore either. Still I'm looking forward to the upcoming VN. And I don't think KS is so hilarious that it would pose any danger to those with recent surgeries... Eh, you never know...different people find all kinds of differe...

Re: Help with extras?

Unsure of what you mean specifically by 'specs'. Sorry, I merely meant - are you playing on a more or less standard OS (like Windows XP or Windows 7) or is it something a bit different (like a Mac or iPad)? Anyway, Act 1 sounds like it's more or less the way it should be...but for some reason it di...

Re: Help with extras?

This would go into the support section and it definitely sounds like a bug. If you completed the Hanako route, you should have almost all of it unlocked in the library and have a few more music and art pieces. Also should have the Hanako and Rin Act 2 movies unlocked. Can you tell us wether or not y...

Re: Piro's Blog

Never thought much of his series to be honest (read through it 7 years back I think and can barely remember any of it, other than a brief insert on the evils of hentai). Not the worst, but didn't stand out to me that much either, not counting the fact that it updated really slowly. Maybe now that it...

Re: Ask!

Did the Non-American writers ever experience frustration at having to change their writing-style to suit the others'? Or was it only a slight alteration in spelling with no real problems? The Australian writers were occasionally annoyed, crud more than Suriko (well isn't it unfair? 3 of 5 writers a...

Re: Oh Lilly... what's wrong with me?

Basically I hated every time KS's story used Hisao's having a heart attack/scare as a vehicle for progress, instead of meaningful character interactions. For instance one of my bigger annoyances is that it's impossible to start Emi's route - which otherwise I really like for how much more active, h...

Re: Oh Lilly... what's wrong with me?

Lilly does actually disclose things about herself at several points, like the talk she and Hisao have in the library where she mentions she's half-Scottish and she wants to become a teacher. There's also the talk she and Hisao have the morning after Hanako's party, where Lilly talks about her paren...

Re: School before Yamaku

Probably was wonky before that too, just moreso...subdued in expressing it. Him having sex was just the trigger for his paranoia. For something to be a trigger, it has to play off something that is already there beforehand. So yeah, it's safe to say Kenji always was paranoid since his early childhoo...

Re: The meaning of Katawa Shoujo.

It can mean a number of things. The fact that the official page has the 5 main questions tied to the 5 paths should tell you that much at least. But, and to quote my favourite path, for me it ultimately meant: "It's alright to be me." And I find that goes well enough with the overall theme...

Re: What scene made you "cry" the most

No wait I did cry. When kenji took of his glasses. Shizune's arc really does actually flesh Kenji out very nicely. It's a bit unfortunate, because on the one hand throughout every other route he's there as a paranoid comic relief, but in Shizune's arc you genuinely get the feeling like he's a fully...
