Re: Yamaku Book Club (20200907 Another Omake Scene)

Considering what we know of Lilly know, the idea that at one time they considered making Lilly half African and her family owned a diamond mine is just way over the top. I'm really glad to see that gone toned down. I ended up writing a story about Hanako making friends with a South African girl who...

Re: Yamaku Book Club (20200907 Another Omake Scene)

Ah, this was from the "Lilly is as rich as Croesus" era. By the end of the story, had Hisao been around, he would've hnnnnnnnged himself. The prose is a little rich but it is a cute story, very micro-VN. You can even imagine the graphics and the pastel colours.

In the end, I find myself falling back on this: memory eternal, Raide-sama.

Re: Question About Hanako's Route

To me, there are two possible, somewhat related, explanations which make sense: 1. Hanako wants a reliable relationship that treats her like an ordinary person, no kid gloves. This means just bumming around as equals, doing normal bumming around things like hanging out in town. 'Now that Lilly's not...

Re: Yamaku Book Club (20200824 Zade Wither)

To divert the conversation further into AtD, I recently had a conversation with Prof where she described AtD, in complimentary terms, as extremely high-effort shitposting. I agree with that assessment, and it's precisely what I find infuriating about it. As a work, it's my impression that it makes ...

Re: Developments (Post-Lilly NE) [Complete, 2015-08-11]

Good grief! I didn’t realize I was writing an essay, here. Sorry folks. I guess I got carried away. Once again, my hat is off to Dewelar for writing this excellent story, in addition to Leaty, Crimson Harmony, and all of the folks who contributed their talents and ideas towards the story! This was ...

Re: Yamaku Book Club (20200824 Zade Wither)

Related to this discussion about giving feedback, I wrote a whole "Iron Saki" shitpost in lieu of being able to give coherent feedback about Learning To Fly. I can empathise with that, because 'After The Dream' is the shitposting that emerged after I came here, read through all the writin...

Re: Yamaku Book Club (20200824 Zade Wither)

And that is a problem, because people do need feedback to improve. You can imagine me sitting there, not quite knowing how to improve on the text presented, and hesitant to say anything negative without something positive to offer. And after some time has passed, I too regretfully pass. The problem...

That's sometimes why some people don't get any comments from me. :D

Interlude (20200823)

The world seems to have drifted apart into icebergs—some large, some small, all cold. I have always wondered why, to so many of my communicants from the AtD-verse, it is as if the SARS-CoV-2 virus had never existed. And yet, as I sit in this corner, setting up for yet another Zoom session, I find my...

Or he should be black, bald, and use a lot of expletives while attempting to get people with superpowers to work for him.

She was so great I got permission from forgetmenot to include her in my own fanfics. There's so much mystery, tragedy, and character in her.

Re: Yamaku Book Club (20200629 Queens of the Land)

I love this story. It has a lot of character, and it was very helpful to me when I first started out writing my own stuff. You learn how they communicate, and how they might interact; even though this is not their final canonical relationship, it is a good read with only minor infelicities of langua...

Thanks for responding Brythain, I'm both surprised and happy to see you're still on the boards here. It always amazes me how your Jigoro can be both profoundly an impatient ass, and well, profound. That last line is oddly inspiring, (doubly so for readers who are familiar with your Jigoro!) My Jigoro, the Family Accountant, a power player in his own right—who clowns around for his kids when he has...
