Re: Learning To Fly - A Saki pseudo-route (Act 3 Completed 8/20)

This was lovely euro, I'm at a loss for words... I've lost multiple loved ones to degenerative diseases and the image of them withering away in hospitals hooked up to an inordinate number of tubes and cables is something I will never forget. I'm a huge proponent of assisted suicide for exactly this ...

Re: Yet another one-shot thread

"That excruciating homeroom lecture from Mutou!" She does her best to impersonate his voice. "'When you have, umm, relations with someone the law of transitivity means you are having relations with everyone they have had relations with, so use a prophylactic.' I was so confused."...

Re: Yamaku Book Club ( Phantom Pains: Mirror Shoujo)

Shopping trip This one actually made me think about grocery stores like Amazon Go where someone like Hanako could shop without any human interaction whatsoever. But is that a good thing? On one hand, it allows her to avoid significant - sometimes debilitating - anxiety. On the other hand, by lettin...

Re: Walking together

she implied Chariots of Fire was her favourite film so I imagined her listening to this Ah, I completely forgot about Chariots of Fire which, while less epic than Conquest of Paradise, fits much better thematically with Miki's running. Eagle eyed as ever! Fulfil is the preferred spelling in my neck...

Re: Walking together

Another nice one Scroff! Before I go crazy with the quotes, one thing that didn't sit well with me is that this felt like two disjointed stories; one with Miki & Hisao and one with the whole Ikuno drama. In fact, if you removed all of the latter, it feels like the former wouldn't lose anything. ...

Oh, I didn't took it that way, it was supposed to be tongue-in-cheek but I guess it didn't translate well into text :)

Well, I'll just defer to your experience then. I'm old, but not have-a-17-year-old old :)

Re: Yet another one-shot thread

I agree with Clacifer that [...] That's calcifer actually :P That has to be more or less par for the course for people who have lived their whole lives with said conditions and/or for Yamaku students. If they were half a decade older, maybe. Or, I'm just too jaded and cynical to believe today's tee...

Re: Consider this an intervention!

Well written, and it was definitely a nice read but it felt too unrealistic. Bunch of angsty teenagers (one of which is basically a stranger) get together and have an adult, articulate, methodical discussion of their medical conditions? And then they discuss their masturbation habits and possible se...

Re: An Unexpected Visitor

It was one of my posters, one of Hokusai’s prints of Mount Fuji. Not the famous wave image, but one of the simple black and white ones that had no people in it. Hmm, is this a generic reference or do you perhaps have a specific Hokusai piece in mind? :) In terms of Rin... well, it felt like too muc...

Re: A Box of Madeleines

I was discussing euro's Saki route with a friend when she told me about this ghost story posted on the forums a few months ago. After a little bit of googling, here we are. While the comparison to fluff's piece is obvious, I'd like to imagine this as an (eventual) epilogue to euro's route, years dow...

So bittersweet, nicely done. Before I had a chance to respond, she was already jogging to get to her class. So she is an HLHS patient who not only survived to her teenage years without external symptoms (like cyanosis) or intellectual disabilities, but has a life expectancy of 40 whole years and can...

Re: A presentation to remember

A presentation to remember Nice one. It barely counts as KS fanfic, but I've enjoyed it :) [Douglas Bader] was said to be very rude and held old-fashioned and, according to some, even racist views That's quite the understatement. Bader was a huge asshole and very racist, even for his time. Some min...
