Re: Shizune's storyline

In my experience, most traditional Asian fathers act that way. There's a reason this meme exists . They may be bursting with pride at their child's achievements, but the only time the child will ever hear of it is if they eavesdrop. :) Most of them tend to be slightly less severe with their daughter...

Re: Shizune's storyline

Huh. I always thought that Hisao develops the most as a character in Shizune's path. Clearly, YMMV.

Re: Shizune's storyline

Read into it more. The route is probably the hardest to 'get' next to RIn's, which might explain why so many people give up on enjoying it. It's also one of the less feely routes, so it tends to wrongfoot those expecting Hanako/Lilly Round 2. This thread (and the one posted above) may give you somet...

Re: A Bowl of Noodles (Saki Story)

That's something I notice a lot when writing or photoshopping or doing whatever. I think a lot of it stems from the fact that people are sheep, and if you don't tell them that there's something wrong, they'll never find out on their own. Unhappy with that sentence structure? Fail to give more expla...

Re: Emi inspired running/workout

Could do these too. http://www.rosstraining.com/articles/bandsprints.html I've been thinking about running, not because i really need to. I am 160 pounds or so and about 6 feet tall, so i am happy with my body, have a little flab but i still look very thin. Thinking about running because i think i w...

Are you TRYING to show Shizune a mediocre time? Good lord, at least play "Power Grid" or "War on Terror" or something that's actually fun.

Heh. Having to post a variation of your usual argument every time the issue crops up is bound to get annoying.

Re: Am I the Only One That Didn't Like Lilly's Route?

I enjoyed the path, but I don't think much of it. Everything resolves itself a little too nicely and Lilly is a bloody Mary Sue.

Re: Am I the only one that enjoyed Shizune's route?

@ DeleV : Bah, my literary skill is limited to analysis of Belgariad-level texts. Hasn't stopped me from trying. :) My reading is mostly confined to scientific literature too, so I can get where you're coming from. Most of the research papers I've read have bloody awkward and abrupt writing while st...

If they're free to abuse themselves in that manner, I'm also free to be hacked off at them for being ignorant, lazy or apathetic. The sword cuts both ways. You clearly understand what I was trying to get at, and that's enough for me. I wasn't trying to construct a particularly robust analogy. My ent...

Re: Emi inspired running/workout

Just tried the pistols. I can do regular pistol squats fine, whenever I add the jump I fall on my can though, need to work on balance. I'm not looking to turn into a 235lb muscled-out dude. I like being at about 200 and feel comfortable there. I'm just looking to exchange the 15 or so lbs of fat I'...

Re: Emi inspired running/workout

You could check out the bodyweight exercise progression I posted a couple of pages back. If you're up to it, try jumping pistols . A pullup bar and gymnastic rings will carry you a long way if you're sufficiently motivated. Throw in a weight vest or two for even more mileage. Ross Enamait has a lot ...

Re: First and Second dates

Hell, take her to a boardgaming cafe or your LFG. Shizune would make an awesome ca/tg/irl.

Not for the entire date though, mind, that'd be pretty sad.

Re: Am I the only one that enjoyed Shizune's route?

As a whole, Hisao is anything but weak in Shizune's path. Sure, in the beginning he's content to be a mopey bastard, but the time he's been drawn out of his shell, he's grown and developed more than any other version of Hisao at the same point in time. Shizune doesn't strike me as the kind of person...
