Re: Katawa Shoujo Folding@Home Team
You bastards are lucky. I've spent at least the last 2 days in stasis, due to what has finally appeared to be a bad ram slot on my mobo. I'm going to have to RMA it too, so that means my C2D is down for awhile. Still, I might be able to use my 8800gt in another computer, so don't get TOO excited; th...

Re: Katawa Shoujo Folding@Home Team
Something else I just discovered tonight was that I forgot to restart my PS3 when I had that power outage a few nights ago, so I lost maybe 5 or 6 WU's from that processor. :( FFFFFFFFFFFF. It's all over. I'll never see first place again. Scanning ahead I spottted another team ahead of us we can ke...

Re: Katawa Shoujo Folding@Home Team
I can only keep folding at my rate when I'm not doing anything on my computer. God damn. I'll just resign myself to 4th or 5th place, whatever I'm projected for.

Re: Katawa Shoujo Folding@Home Team
Maybe I should cancel my Persona preorder and grab another vid card...just one would save me from those overtakes in a couple months.

Re: Katawa Shoujo Folding@Home Team
Yeah, it'll be fun being in the top k. Unfortunately, we won't be rising very quickly into the hundreds unless we get another burst of folders. We'll still hit the 200s, but it'll be a few months. Good luck to everyone, and keep the inner-team competition going; it's great for the team, great for St...

Re: Katawa Shoujo Folding@Home Team
Yeah, if we had a bigger folding base and a more evenly distributed one, it might be fun, but right now just have me, malinor, Jet, and Berserker fold for someone and they win. Period. Or a combination of similar heavy folders.
Still a fun idea, I'd do it.

By the way, Extreme Overclocking now tracks our user stats! This means you can rub your computing hardware in each others' faces as though it means you have more skill than each other. Example: http://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/user_summary.php?s=&u=471502 Gonna crush Shinsei!...but get own...

Re: Katawa Shoujo Folding@Home Team
It's either your ATI card or you're on XP. Or both. ATI cards use more CPU, if I remember correctly, and there was (I don't know if it still occurs) an issue with XP reporting 100% usage of the core; Vista only uses <10% of the core to feed the GPU. If neither of these are the cause, all I can say i...

Re: Katawa Shoujo Folding@Home Team
It doesn't matter which WUs you get, for the most part. Ones worth more points are typically harder, and take longer, giving you a roughly equal PPD. Some WUs really are slower, and lower your PPD (especially noticeable on the GPU client). Others are faster. However, the amount of frames and worth o...

Re: Katawa Shoujo Folding@Home Team
If you have a fast Dual Core, I'd use the SMP client. I use SMP with GPU on my e6750, so I can't even get 100% on both cores (CPU feeds data to the GPU, using some processor time). OC'd to 3.2ghz, I get over 1k PPD on SMP while being used (net, etc.). 1.2k when I'm not on.

Fans flanderizing
It appears to me that the fans are slowly flanderizing each character, reducing them slowly to certain base characteristics that we find easy to imagine, reducing any kind of depth they might have had. The process isn't complete, but it's slowly getting there. Play the game again once in awhile, rem...
