Re: A Memory Hisao has of Lilly

I can't imagine that warm feeling of providence is much more than a chemical reaction or simply a mystery to atheists - perhaps even something they don't want to feel. When I hear stuff like "that warm feeling of providence", I'm mostly just puzzled. I don't know what you mean by that. I ...

Re: A Memory Hisao has of Lilly

I've got something I'd like to share with you - the origins of these excerpts - but I think I would rather reveal it after I tell you about Lilly, to gauge your reaction, as both will contain miracles. Sadly, I haven't the time to write it, so I will write it later. Perhaps sometime this week. At ve...

Re: KS in 50 years

If current shadows remain unaltered, it will be to entertainment media what Beta was to VHS, or what cylinders were to phonograph records. Brilliant, but it will die because producers don't think it worth the cost for such a fine product. It must have cost you guys a fair amount of time and money to...

"Oh, I don't know. I'd say it's a tie between you Neanderthalic thugs, those unintelligible sheep-shagging barbarians in Wales, and... well, it's bad enough to say they're Irish, now isn't it?" said a passing Englishman.

Re: Is KS porn ??

As a Catholic, unofficially speaking for the Catholic Church I quote the Catechism of the Catholic Church: 2354 Pornography consists in removing real or simulated sexual acts from the intimacy of the partners, in order to display them deliberately to third parties. It offends against chastity becaus...

Re: If you were enrolled in Yamaku High School...

To be honest, I don't see why I would go, very much... :? I mean, unless I lived in the town below the hill and there were no mission schools - Catholic, Protestant, or Orthodox - in the surrounding cities, and my parents were making enough money or one of them worked at Yamaku so I could afford to ...

Re: A Memory Hisao has of Lilly

Atheists use the phrase, "Oh God." I've heard them do it, frequently. It's an expression, like any other expression. Using it doesn't denote any particular belief - at least, in most contexts. Sometimes it does mean the speaker believes in God, but it's usually safe to assume they're just...

Re: A Memory Hisao has of Lilly

I mean, what's the point of using a character if you're going to make then act out of character. Having a hard time swapping in a satisfactory word tho >.< shoudaku maybe? I'm not a Japanese expert, but I find this to be a satisfactory word: "sa-zo". I'll place it alongside my "amen&...

Re: A Memory Hisao has of Lilly

I personally found some of what Hisao had to say in Emi's good ending to be just a tad... like, it seems he thinks life ends here on Earth, and he's content with thinking it ends with this life, as long as he and Emi are together. :| I dunno if that's atheistic... probably... But, actually, regardin...

Re: What third ending should Lilly and Shizune had?

Lilly -She asks if you're religious -You answer "no" -She says her family is deeply religious (Catholic) and can't date a heathen like you [img] I smiled. Kinda ironic seeing Lilly did some things that the Catholic church look down upon (sex before marriage, drinking, birth cont...

Re: What third ending should Lilly and Shizune had?

Lilly's bad ending: transpose Misha's bad scene (with a few revisions to fit Hanako's personality) into Lilly's story. (And, I dunno, she walks in on them or something. I'm not sure how she finds out but she does.) And when she finds out you cheated on her with Hanako, at first it doesn't seem to af...

Re: A Memory Hisao has of Lilly

There's a bit of interesting eccentric conflict of culture and religion. While not particularly relevant(since the specifics are left out), it may make for some food for thought. In Asian culture in general, including the more 'traditional elites' of Japan, The to be wife adopts the husbands custom...

Re: A Memory Hisao has of Lilly

According to the 2001 Scotland census 16% of people claim to be Roman Catholic. 47% are CoS. As for Japan itself 80-85% of people don't follow a particular religion, with only 15 to 50% of that 20% believing in a God. From there you split that in to actual religions and Christianity as a whole ends...
