Re: KS2Android [WORKING Android "port"]

What exactly is your point? You acknowledge that it is illegal and you know that it is against the wishes of the copyright holders. If you are trying to convince someone, then telling them how little you care about their rights and their wishes is rarely a good idea. If you just want to let people k...

Re: Which ending(s) do you consider the worst?

Well, I don't think Emi is broken... She is still functioning. But in that end she has shown to be unable to form a healthy relationship twice now, and that is only partly Hisao's fault. Not being able to open up about an event that is so far in the past even to a boyfriend does not speak well for ...

Re: Which ending(s) do you consider the worst?

Shizune's good ending result in a total "hypocrite" ending, like "yeah we know that the day we'll separate, all of this is going to be over". And I don't know, it feels odd to me, worse than a fight resulting in a separation. I don't see that as hypocritical at all. It may not b...

Re: Which ending(s) do you consider the worst?

Both of Rin's endings. Right now I am not entirely sure which. Without rereading I remember the "rain" end as feeling worse, although I guess it is open ended enough to leave room for a reasonably good outcome. To me, what sets Rin's endings apart is that it is not just her relationship wi...

Re: Finally finished them all.

I hate that I will never be able to experience something like this in my life. That seems to be a common sentiment, but it's not how I read KS at all. Of course the characters' relationships are depicted as very positive (at least if you get the good endings) and everyone would be lucky to experien...

Re: Missing a Rin option?

It depends on your choices during "Rose-Tinted Glasses" or "BADAAN!". If you are using the flowchart below, then you have to end up on the red branch one way or the other.

I have to admit that I totally misread this question at first and now I am curious what you have in mind.

Random minor things that appeal to you

Which random details of the KS universe seem particularly appealing to you? I don't mean what you liked best from a literary perspective. It's not so much about parts of KS that you enjoyed reading. And I don't mean the central elements like your relationship with the girls or anything too closely c...

Re: Favourite Route

I wonder if there are any recognizeable patterns in people's preferences by age, gender, experience with other VNs etc. Unfortunately it is probably too difficult to get a sufficient sample size for something like that.

Re: Favourite Route

Emi's route is my favorite. I think their relationship is handled very well. It is one among equals and at least to me it seemed like the most healthy in the game, despite their issues. It is also very believable. I like Emi as a character, too. I think she is depicted as a great person and her init...

Re: Hype

It doesn't seem like there is, the community seems kind of distant and maybe that's why :/ I think in part it is just because many people have been here for a long time and they talk about a comparatively narrow subject. That means that much of the time people know each other and they have had broa...

Re: Hype

I think the answer is really boring. Precisely because of the hype most people who are interested in that kind of thing have seen it already. Even of those who liked it most have moved on at some point. Of course interest is also highly circular. There were far more new reviews and discussions throu...

Re: Black bars around the screen on ubuntu 12-04 LTS

I have the same issue under Ubuntu 12.04 as the OP. After leaving the game the resolution remains at 800x600. Unfortunately I don't have a solution though. Usually I just log out and back in quickly.

Finding out the decisions that lead to a save file

If you have a save file and all the rest of the installation that produced it, is there a way to tell which decisions you made up to that point? Today I tried to remember the exact path I took the first time I played KS. Of course I remember the general outline, but I noticed that even with the flow...

Re: Kenji and Lilly

I think it just stands out because it is a mild violation of what TvTropes calls the "One Steve Limit", i.e. the convention that in fiction characters tend to have the same or very similar names only when there is a good reason for it although it happens all the time in real life.
