Re: Theory regarding Hanako's "dark tiles" game.
Every now and again, she breaks her pace a little and steps in slightly shorter paces. The tiles clearly aren't placed evenly like on a chessboard. Shuffling her feet, Hanako points the toe of her shoe at a tile that is barely a shade darker than the others. They're also clearly not black and white...

Re: Birthday!
I don't believe in saying "Happy Birthday." You're just reminding the person that they're a year closer to dying. ...and here come all the Shizune haters, now that I've said that. Wow. What a pessimist you are! Also, what a depressing life you must lead if death is so omnipresent in your ...

Re: Harem route is the only acceptable choice for me!
A couple other things that people haven't brought up in here are: 1) The fact that while Hisao starts out the same on all the paths, he's got quite a different personality from one path to another if you actually think about it. 2) Opportunity cost. Any decision we make in life, from the smallest mo...

Re: Lilly's Blindness
Calling IT creepy rather than YOU feeling creeped puts the blame on the different person and portrays them negatively. If we can tolerate a person's kneejerk reaction, we could accept the feeling. Remember there's nothing wrong with them, except their eye. Exactly. I personally disagree with the cr...

Re: Katawa Shoujo Act 1 v5 released!
I tried to imagine 'Ah-nuld' saying "Wait... I'm Misha" but got Jorgen von Strangle from Fairly Oddparents instead. I'm not sure I mind since it's hilarious either way.PasterOfMuppets wrote:I dont know why...
But i just pictured Arnold schwartzanegger voicing over misha O.o
Also, it's Schwarzenegger. No 't'.

Re: Damn You Shizune
I don't think poorly of any characters, although I can see why some would have problems with characters, especially Shizune. Seeing as how she's always there for the first few scenes, you might feel iritated. Shizune's repeated sequences when I was trying to do replays was frustrating. Still, she's...

Re: If You Want Something Done
we'll be able to rollback and review the entire thing, just not being able to retake the choices and being stuck on the path we chose. Currently you can't roll back past the Act titlecards. Anyway, even if you could, rolling back tens of thousands of lines seems a pretty impractical thing to do. Th...

Re: Lilly's Blindness
I gotta wonder if she can see in shades of grey (Able to vaguely differentiate shapes, but not form, velocity or colour) or is just straight blackity-black. I've gotta assume that it's just pitch blackness since she didn't notice the fact that the sun was setting during the first tea room scene. If...

Re: If You Want Something Done
This means that you can only rollback to the last choice you made, and play the game from there. Anything beyond that is blocked, and you can only read that in readback. Readback shows a list of all the dialogue that came on the screen during the playthrough. In other words, you don't see the text ...

Re: If You Want Something Done
Delta, this is seriously awesome if I'm right in how I interpreted your blog post. This is actually very similar in result to the "awesome idea" I thought up over in the main public discussion forum, though the implimentation is different (though I doubt you had that in mind when you start...

Re: This chessboard.
Speaking of Hanako... who here thinks that the "or..." she's referring to in her ending is her late father? That seems obvious...which means we'll probably get swerved and take a left hook from nowhere. I hope not. Like I said, while it wouldn't be a surprise to us, it would be to Hisao ,...

Re: An Armless Painter IRL
I just remembered what this reminds me of! It's sort of like a more modernized/futuristic take on the death and torment in the third pane of Heironymous Bosch's "The Garden of Earthly Delights" triptych in which the sinners are punished in a surrealistically horrifying vision of Hell. It's...

Re: Does anyone else
Not really. I'm big on sci-fi (as is probably obvious) but I enjoy good realistic escapism as well and this just feels better as a slice-of-life thing to me.

Re: An Armless Painter IRL
Holy shit What he said. It's damn near impossible to believe someone with arms could do that, much less someone without them. I've seen enough album covers/airbrushed vans in my life to say that it's not really so impressive to me. When you talk about the genuine photorealism I've seen in paintings...
