Re: Shizune's route

Yeah...Every route makes sense with one playthrough. What game were you playing? Not sure, something called Katawa Shoujo. Strange title, in retrospect I honestly have no idea what I was thinking when I went near that... :P More seriously, if everything fell into place on your first time through Ri...

Re: The great fan fiction archive

You can sort the forums alphabetically too if you want. Wow, you're right! I never noticed this option before! O_O Anyway, I think alphabetical sorting is the most helpful for maintaining the list. All the standardized extra info such as "pairings" and "remarks" are there to mak...

Re: The great fan fiction archive

In order to make the entries more distinct, would it be an idea to allow authors to submit short summaries (with a strict maximum of like 4 lines) to add to the entries? Or would that make the list take up too much space? Way too much space, I'm afraid. I already dread the notorious Firefox layout-...

Re: The great fan fiction archive

If you guys are open to the possibility of sorting the stories somehow other than alphabetically, what about by the date they were originally posted here? That might make it handy for people who want to use this list to see "what's new" in the archive, and it would tell an interesting sto...

Re: Shizune's route

I miss the "Requires a replay or chances are half of it won't make sense" option from the poll. ;)

Re: The great fan fiction archive

While I don't agree with ewx on most points, it is true that the currently used way to present word count is impossible to search, and causes additional burden for the list administrators. The latter would not get solved by this alone, but the former might be, if we used categories instead of exact ...

Re: Shizune Arc (misha, jigoro)

If that's the case for Shizune, she sure manages to hide that well. Well, with Shizune it's hard to tell, since he and Jigoro don't really interact for obvious reasons. But when Hideaki commented on his dad's latest rant, using words such as "slander" and "assault", for me that ...

Re: Shizune Arc (misha, jigoro)

You could consider it a subtle way of saying "you're doing it wrong." I'm sorry if I'm bringing up something that has been discussed earlier (I did not read through all posts, they were... well, huge XD), but I don't think Jigoro and subtlety mix very well. Okay, that's not entirely true....

Re: The great fan fiction archive

Hmm, that is not entirely accurate. Instead of this:

Code: Select all

"link to story" ’Name of the story’– ‘type’ by ‘author (‘status’, ca. XXXX words)
the entries actually look like this:

Code: Select all

’Name of the story’ – ‘type’ by ‘author (‘status’, ca. XXXX words)

Re: The great fan fiction archive

Great idea, you could edit the first post in the thread so that the template is already inside the code tag and contains all necessary URL and formatting tags that should be present, to make submission easier. :)

Re: The great fan fiction archive

What about fics which are on Pastebin/elsewhere, but also have their own story-specific feedback thread here on the forums? For instance, here's a forum link to " Ascent: An Emilogue ", which is an awesome Emi epilogue story. I might as well write up the details: Ascent: An Emilogue – Epil...

Re: Katawa Kijo

Hisao was much more concerned about Kenji using his powers to kill half the human population on earth... I suppose. I guess I have trouble envisioning "Kenji" and "danger" in the same sentence in general. ;) It's an interesting thought, actually, since the game never put him any...

Re: Katawa Kijo

Well, in the beginning Hisao had a lot of reservations about Kenji having "evil magic powers". In fact at one point he wanted to talk Kanzaki out of teaching him. Read the end of "The Gospel Truth" for the exact scene. He changed his mind only after learning that it was the only...

Re: Katawa Kijo

Great. Now I won't be able to picture Yuuko as being anything other than a very subtle succubus. Took the words right out of my mouth. XD Anyway, great story. It managed to pleasantly surprise me not once, but multiple times. - I started reading without any knowledge of the premise, and thought, &q...

Re: Living

It's on OC story. Don't close the browser just yet. Well, what do you know? This line actually works; it was a close call, but it did the trick. I have to keep that in mind. ;) So far so good. I especially enjoyed the scene with Rin. We shall see how well you fare when our hero is thrust into a sce...
