Re: Things Hisao did you would've done differently
I wouldn't have pressured Rin into doing that art exhibit, since she was so visibly uncomfortable with the whole idea. I certainly would've pulled her out of the whole project after that whole masturbation fiasko , at the latest, or at least strongly recommended to her that she quit, since at that p...

Re: Japanese
Here's a helpful piece of free software that I always recommend to anybody attempting to learn the language of the people from the land of the rising sun: JWPce http://www.physics.ucla.edu/~grosenth/jwpce.html Contains a detailed database of almost every japanese kanji, with good tools to search the...

Re: Does Rin have Asperger Syndrome?
My understanding is that Asperger's is a neurological disorder. In layman's terms, your brain's wiring is imperfect in places, especially where social skill and motor skills are concerned. It would be interesting to ask Aura about the real-life models he based her on. I doubt that he's gonna say any...

Re: Why the hate for Shizune ??
Well, I wouldn't say that I hate her. That's too strong of a word to use here. But, Shizune's character has been designed with character traits which, in real life, would without a doubt start driving me up the wall, should I be forced to live with someone like her for any extended periods of time. ...

Re: Ask!
A question for Aura (not strictly related to KS though): how did you get to the point where you can write a story that is thousands of words long in a foreign language, and write it better than a lot of native speakers could do? In addition to formal education and osmosis through using English ever...

Re: KS Academic Conference Paper - Seeking Help
1. Which girl's thread affected you the most emotionally? Why did it do this? Lilly, Hanako, Rin and Emi were all emotional roller coasters. Shizune less so. Lilly's story impacted me the most, because it deals with the issue of abandonment, something that I unfortunately struggle with. Even though...

Re: Ask!
Did Karla, Lilly's mother, make any actual visible appearances in the game at any point during development, or was she always going to be just that distant voice over the phone?

Re: Ask!
What was the method that delta used to compress "ltrni.png"? Can this method be applied universally to any unicorn... I mean, to any PNG-file to achieve better compression ratio? And most importantly, would delta be willing to share the details of this method? I'm of course referencing thi...

Thanks for the ride, devs.
It certainly was a trip full of emotion. Nothing was as I expected. It was all better than I expected. Much better. Katawa Shoujo exceeded all of my expectations. Every last one of them. I signed up to these forums 3 years ago. January 2009. I had heard about the project a month earlier, in Dec. -20...

Re: Ask!
Is Rin autistic? I've completed her path completely just tonight, and I could almost wager that there's something neurological going on with her. Some of her scenes were just painful to watch, as she tried to struggle with certain situations that she clearly wasn't equipped to handle, and people jus...

3) What really happened to Miki's left hand? Did you have any popular ideas for this? I don't remember the game explaining this. In one cut scene involving her, it was mentioned she lost her hand in an accident with powertools. There's your explanation. You have warmed my heart. Thanks, Australia. ...

Re: Ask!
Back with some more questions: 1) Earlier in time you devs mentioned that KS at one point had rape scenes. What ultimately resulted in those scenes getting deleted? Too controversial perhaps? 2) I guess it's safe to assume that rape would've always resulted to a bad end? 3) What really happened to M...
