Re: Sisterhood (Hanako Epilogue) (Completed)
Couldn't agree more. You might just as well cal them family, because that's what they are to each other. Lilly is the only family Hanako has, and vice versa. Her real family is so distant (Akira is more like a best friend who drops by to say Hi sometimes) that Lilly might as well be an orphan too. ...

Re: Sisterhood (Hanako Epilogue) (Completed)
Good lord. I came to this story with a lot of hype in my ear about how amazing it was, and that's usually the setup for a letdown. NOPE. Total masterwork. I cried at this about as much as I did for the actual canon Lilly Good route — and that's given that I cried for that about things that also hap...

Re: > Comfort Hanako
Those of you who believe Hanako would never, ever cheat are gravely distorting Hanako's character, overestimating her kindness, and under estimating the effects of her trauma. Hanako is so lonely and love-starved that she will take affection wherever she can find it; for this reason she is the one ...

In other words:
VN with less than x decision points: not a game.
VN with equal or more than x decision points: a game.
x obviously being your personally preferred amount of decision points.
Seems like a very subjective criterium.

Re: GameFAQs Top 10: Top 10 Best Characters From Visual Nove
You can choose to read a story where Hisao sticks with the art club or leaves it, but in the end we're still reading a story where a fucking idiot encourages Rin to go into professional art under the guidance of a greedy bastard and someone who is quite clearly unreliable and who never encourages h...

So is engaging in a coin flip game, although it's an extremely basic game. Telling the guy flipping whether it's gonna be heads or tails or telling the operator of a shell game under which shell the ball is doesn't involve major activity other than picking the right choice. They're still games.

I could argue your points, but that'd probably be one more thing that'd keep you from some well-needed rest, so I won't.

Limited interactivity is still interactivity. Your own actions still determine whether you "win" or "lose".

You don't play it though, anymore than turning to a chosen page in a CYOA book is playing a book or selecting a chapter from a DVD menu's scene selection is playing a movie. And there is no win condition. There are only varying conclusions, some arguably less pleasant than others. Yet even in bad e...

Re: > Comfort Hanako
Help, I need a date reference for all you Hanako fans out there. Does anyone have a rough idea on what date the park scene at the end of Hanako's story took place? I assume its a few days to a few weeks after Hanako's birthday on July 10th. I don't think an actual date was given. Probably a few day...

What's annoying about that thread? It's more on-topic than 50% of the traffic in this folder. I'd say encourage the practice, even if not all threads are winners. And now she's gone and created another thread... Seriously, she's annoying.

Re: Which girl do you think will age the best?
My personal vote goes to Emi. She'll keep her slim figure due to her running habit and in her 40's she may very well look like Meiko with a slightly smaller chest...which is still quite attractive. Hanako deserves a special mention too due to the fact scars slightly fade with age, meaning Hanako wil...

Re: The death of Misha... *MASSIVE SPOILERS*
I think the premise that Misha would kill herself outside of Shizune's good ending is flawed. I personally think Misha would eventually pick herself up after graduating...even after the bad end. Misha's problem wasn't Shizune not returning her feelings...it was Shizune not returning her feelings AND...

I don't think every orphan automatically has hangups about their birthday...Hanako's dislike of the day came after she left the hospital.

Re: > Comfort Hanako
Except Hanako's so afraid of being an inconvenience to others that quite often she doesn't ask even if she COULD use a hand or a supporting shoulder. Which makes the situation that much trickier.and if she needs help, she'll ask for it herself.
