Re: The wrong reaction to a grave mistake.

Well, right as the good ending has come, Hanako says "I wanted to give you this for a long time, but now that I have to, it's embarrassing." To me that says she's wanted an equal relationship as friends since meeting Hisao. In that particular statement, she's actually talking about that kiss she gi...

Re: The wrong reaction to a grave mistake.

And besides... not trusting Lilly very much doesn't mix very well with Hanako saying "I love her very much." It would seem that the latter is true whether Hisao screws up or not. If Hisao screws up, you never make it to the point where she says she loves Lilly very much. The two aren't completely m...

Re: If Lilly Had Been a Boy

You wouldn't be the first person to come up with ideas for a genderbent fic. I believe there's several attempts somewhere in the fanfic forum already.

Re: Emi in Wonderland

Actually, I think he's simply asking why you aren't posting all the chapters at the same time (still as separate posts, if they're meant to be read that way, but no longer separated by breaks of half a day) since the story probably isn't long enough to immediately overwhelm people with its length.

Re: The wrong reaction to a grave mistake.

I've talked to lots of kinds of people over the years, and really, the only kinds of people not open to forgiveness are the bitchy ones not open to trust in the first place. And Hanako isn't like that. Well, "not open to trust in the first place" is a pretty good way to describe Hanako and her thou...

Re: If Lilly Had Been a Boy

If going by the way Lilly's family is depicted in the actual VN, a male Lilly would likely be more coddled, and very likely hate it. Simply because Japanese culture puts a lot of emphasis on the first-born male child, but him being blind since birth would be a bit of some shame for them. So having ...

Re: Ask!

Grid1 was the version with the old-style characters and monochrome backgrounds. It's pretty easy to tell it apart from the rest.

Re: The wrong reaction to a grave mistake.

You called? ;) After all, Yuuko is about as non-threatening as they come. It's kind of funny that you say that, because Hanako was definitely feeling threatened by Yuuko during her route. Of course, for different reasons... As for why they aren't close friends...I think Hanako is slightly more famil...

Re: Developments (Post-Lilly Bad End) [Ch 28 up 12/12]

Would it be a stretch to predict that Yoshi's girl trouble and Hisao's girl trouble partially overlap? (and I'm not talking about Emi)

Re: Iwanako: Mean Time to Breakdown {updated 11/20/2013}

I doubt a significant amount of people will come across it via TV tropes, but what do i know? You'd be surprised actually. I had quite a few people who never posted in the forum before reply in my fanfic's post to tell me they enjoyed the story. At first I wondered where those 1-post users were com...

Re: Hype

By 15, people either know enough to make informed choices or the people teaching them just really suck at the job. Or, rather than sucking, the people teaching them simply have no interest in teaching the subject, preferring to simply drop the A-word and be done with it. There's an entire abstinenc...

Re: Iwanako: Mean Time to Breakdown {updated 11/20/2013}

Authors may not be completely objective about their own work, but neither are fans of said work so the problem you highlight will pop up no matter who creates the page. I set up the page for my own fanfic there under the assumption that if I ended up putting something in there that was too exaggerat...

Re: Iwanako: Mean Time to Breakdown {updated 11/20/2013}

(I have a very love-hate relationship with TV Tropes, because its community has some very deep-seated issues, and I am too old for that shit. That being said, I would be lying if I said I was so humble that I didn't envy the rather elaborate TV Tropes pages that Reconciliation, Sisterhood, et al. h...

Re: Question about Lilly and Shizune

Whether additional dev statements are canon or not isn't really that important to the discussion, since the "in-laws-not-blood-brothers"-thing is stated to be an oversight that will be fixed in future releases. This isn't just a dev saying something like: "The official ending for all girls is that t...

Re: Limits of Fanfiction - What is appropriate?

And the "hinted at" rather than "shown" is what makes it work better in my opinion. The devs knew about the various ships, so they included copious amounts of teasing without actually confirming. Frankly, a confirmation of Yuuko and Kenji in the game would have dropped its quality for me. Regarding ...
