Re: A Suzu good-end epilogue (Ch. 2, 2013-10-08)
Yeah, I figured out that the pacing won't allow 4 chapters. 5 minimum, might go to 6. Editing the TOC to reflect that. A bit of advice; don't tell people the limits you have planned. Keep an idea of them in your notes, but in a format like this, where the story is released in serial chunks, unless ...

If it's only the introduction, you might want to wait until a little more depth is added to the description before proclaiming your similarities.exgladous wrote:wow, I just read the bit where Aiko describes Kenta. I am exactly like Kenta except not japanese, younger, and I don't have a disability.

Re: The great fan fiction archive
… it might be more accurate to list my word counts as (some number)-ish. That's why I rounded the count for my longer stories to the nearest hundred. While I have a word count from the original file, I discovered that eliminating the formatting tags dropped the word count by two for each instance. ...

Re: The great fan fiction archive
No, I won't do a wordcount until a story is completely finished. (and for stories with a lot of chapters it would be nice if the author could send it in...) I have a spreadsheet with the word count for every chapter, totaled by act. It's amazing the things you'll do to kill time while you're blocke...

...Been reading Friedrich Nietzsche? You might wanna lay off him, he gets to you, man :). I've heard that name, but I couldn't tell you who they are. In terms of reading, my scope of experience is frightfully limited. The only authors I can readily name whose works I've read are JRR Tolkien, RA Sal...

It's funny that I never knew this thread existed, even though I've read Helbereth's posts hundreds of times. I've certainly been around long enough to have seen it, but I guess I never thought to look at it back when it was relevant. Now I feel like I did when I got to the end of the Higurashi dub ...

You really don't. It was a jumbled, incoherent mess that's probably better left in limbo. After I finished reading, I had to step away for a few minutes to try blanking it out, and when I came back it was gone--it kind of worked out well in that regard.Hanako Scars wrote:I sort of wish I'd seen this now

Re: The Visitor
I'm sorry, did it confuse you? Using a notepad-style text editor makes it hard to figure out what's text reflow and where the newlines run. And I might be slavishly imitating VN-conventions, where it's always obvious who's talking no matter how many disjointed pieces of dialogue are thrown at you. ...

And misbehave . So does Helbereth, from what I've heard LIES! I'm a perfect angel! It's only my thoughts that follow dark paths... this recent update marks his return as an in depth editor. Yeah, this is more familiar. Y'all can blame any errors in here on me, probably--I can't acount for wha...

Re: The great fan fiction archive
As for Shizune having a brother - Hideaki's existance was announced well before the full release. Most people also correctly asssumed that he was Shizune's brother - (though personally, I suspected that part to be trolling by the devs until the end) That only applies to people who paid attention to...

Re: The great fan fiction archive
I actually have read a story where Shizune was an only child , though I don't remember which one it was. Y'know, if I'd only read Act 1(through act 3, really), I could easily have assumed she was an only child because she displays all the typical characteristics thereof--imposed self-sufficiency, n...

Re: Rin: Hisao's Gift (a short story)
Perhaps it's serendipity, or malice on the part of the universe, but when I clicked on this post to read its contents, my playlist had worked its way around to an appropriately somber song that sources from elsewhere, but seems to match the overall melancholy tone of this story. I went and found it ...
