Re: Orientation of the girls in 3-3
You know, I'm actually kind of shocked that this sort of thread hasn't come up before. (Also, why just 3-3? No one cares about Lilly, Emi or Rin?) As a general rule, I'd say that we can't really know at this point in their lives. In your teenage years, you're really just discovering the concept of s...

Re: Yet Another One-shot Repository (New Entry 12/25/13)
Well, thanks for all the feedback. Nice to know people like the take on Jigoro. RE: Shizune x Hanako - I'm not opposed to yuri/shoujo ai in principle, but I'd have to have a good basis for going that direction. Haven't read the fic you referenced, so there's hope I may decide to try something like t...

Re: Yamaku's Swimming Pool
Why wouldn't they have a lifeguard as a full-time or nearly full-time position? Because a full-time lifeguard is an expensive thing. Unlike the 24-hour nursing staff, it would be very easy to argue that the benefit of a lifeguard on retainer does not outweigh the cost. They've probably got somethin...

Re: COM(promise) - A Miki Route
Looks like this is another long-form I'll have to find some time to read. As it is, I took a quick peek to see the reception so far. I would've stayed silent, but mirage mentioned my rant without a link, so I figured I should cover that (it's in Blossom, not PseuPseuSu): http://ks.renai.us/viewtopic...

Re: Christmas with the Hakamichis: A Shizune Christmas Speci
No worries. I tend to be extremely detail-oriented and have spent entirely too much time reflecting on the Hakamichi clan. I don't expect people to be as obsessive about the little things, but I will point them out when I notice them. And I've find that I tend to notice them a lot. There are of cour...

Re: Limits of Fanfiction - What is appropriate?
Oh God yes. I can't remember the number of stories I've seen where some foreigner gets in an accident or has some newly discover condition, so they send them overseas to Yamaku. Seriously? Are there no other schools for the disabled anywhere else in the world? Hell, even the game suggest there are ...

Re: Christmas with the Hakamichis: A Shizune Christmas Speci
Well, it's well-written... for the most part. I feel that a few things on really don't work. I'll try to keep my own headcanon out of this: She adds, stating what was already obvious with a huge grin and pointing at her face to emphasise her pointless statement. I understand you learned how to sign ...

Re: Limits of Fanfiction - What is appropriate?
Okay, going to try to keep with the attempts to get back on topic. Just to wrap up a couple loose ends, on the subject of contagion and the ability to spread beyond localised outbreaks and cross natural boundaries, there are all sorts of reasonable explanations for how a pandemic can overcome those ...

Re: Limits of Fanfiction - What is appropriate?
Well, in all honesty, I kind of miss there being someone who would reliably write stories that were dark, depressing or mildly disturbing (and doing it reasonably well). Sometimes it stretched the limits of believability, and you often needed to resort to some sort of "palate cleanser" afterward, bu...

Re: Yamaku's Swimming Pool
Careful, I didn't say "better swimmer", I said "stronger swimming legs". To make Rin's case, I would guess doing everything in daily life with your legs/feet one would normally do with one's arms/hands (on top of the normal leg/feet activities) would give greatly enhanced control and natural endura...

Well, first off, that intorduction is an excellent way to alienate an audience, and your follow-up responses don't do much to rehabilitate the impression. Just like you don't care to, I don't know, interact with the rest of us peons, most of us don't care to waste our time with an arrogant jerk who ...

1 - Not too big a fan of shoplifting as a subject matter for "just for fun" stories. It's not glamorous, and it's kind of a dick move. Have to agree that I was kind of hoping for them to get caught. 2 - Yeah, shoplifting is much easier than it should be. That being said, even if it is the case in re...

Re: Question about Lilly and Shizune
...I guess people around here aren't big fans of symbolic logic. Anyway, the whole bit about dev statements and canonicity is a bit of a tangent. I just strongly dislike the citation of dev statements as canon, because it stifles any conversation. (Also, I like symbolic logic.) More germane, I simpl...

Re: Question about Lilly and Shizune
I have a whole collection of dev quotes at hand to undermine the "Word of God" card, most obviously the one where Suriko states that canon is restricted to the actual game text/content . So I just file Dev statements away as "recommended headcanon." Ah, but dear Prof, is not "canon is restricted to...
