Re: Ask!
How often dd the writers meed to discuss things like the general timeline of the story? I noticed that, for the most part, the timeline seemed consistent, but there were some discrepancies. We never had any meetings with the entire writing staff - time zones made scheduling practically impossibile....

Re: Ask!
I think i read a reply by the devs in this thread that said KS's original setting was planned to be a russian orphanage in the 20's (At least i think i read that, apologies if i'm mistaken) but the setting of the finished product is very different. What drove you to this change in setting? Was ther...

Re: Ask!
Pardon me KS devs! I've been having an ongoing debate of epic proportions with my KS group in regards to Rin. We have both used examples based on human nature and history to prove our points. It has been decided that the only way to solve this, is to ask you, the glorious Developers. Does Rin have ...

Re: Ask!
Useless bloat. He didn't do anything for the story nor was interesting enough to keep, plus caused a bunch of logistics problems. Such as? Visualization: He would almost always have to be onscreen with Lilly, taking up precious screen real estate... except he's a dog, so he'd only be to up like the...

Re: Ask!
Several. Niji is perhaps the most significant one, but I can think of at least four more split between Lilly's and Hanako's paths plus more one-liners and no-liners and still more who were nothing but a name. Here's what I want to know: Why was Niji cut? Was it because Lilly having a seeing-eye dog...

Re: Ask!
That said, the differences in media make for some different challenges. I'm sure no book editor had to worry about textbox overflow or choice of background music, for example. That made me wonder. I liked the music that was composed, as i'm sure many others do as well. But the true strenght in thos...

Re: Ask!
More accurate reply: any specific details of Misha or any other character didn't matter at all. What mattered the most were 1) RAITA's sketch and especially 2) the game was already going to be huge and we barely had the resources to get that done. Any attempts at suggesting to expand KS's scope beyo...

Re: Ask!
It is also why the scene in the track shed is so... unique. I remember reading somewhere that the track shed scene (specifically the "anal") was something the writers did something like drawing straws, and you got the short stick. May I ask: How awkward was it to write that scene? Also, I'm curious...

Writing is fun, working on a project like this is fun, friends at 4LS and who I've otherwise met through KS are great people. Also giving up would've been losing and shameful.Lianam wrote: In which case, here's a question:

"Almost"? Understatement of the week there. I think being obsessive and "crazy" is just pretty standard for being a fan of something. It's not really an issue for me personally. I mean, sure I occasionally find the fandom weird, and it's occasionally hard to interact with the fans because I don't g...

Re: Ask!
Do you have any interest in interactive fiction outside the domain of VNs? I had, but then a grue ate me. I see what you did there On a different note - are you at all worried that KS will define you or overshadow your other work? Not really. It's going to happen to some (unknown) extent and there'...
