Re: Ask!
I suppose if anyone wanted to "stand" on Yamaku, the closest thing in my mind would be the ruins of Sendai Castle. I went there in 2007, and a lot of the descriptions of the locale of Yamaku are based around this. I spent a bit of time looking around there to get my head around it, and then when we...

Re: Ask!
I know this is a hard question to answer but, given ideal conditions (That being the right amount of people working in the game, not having trouble with you guys living in different countries, and you guys knowing exactly what the game was going to look like from the beggining, etc), how much time ...

Re: Ask!
Why did you guys decided to name your group 4LS? Do you regret anything during the time the game was being made? like not being able to finish something, or not feeling confortable with something, etc. Did you tought the game would be this popular? The studio name is a reference to the birthplace o...

Re: Ask!
Was there ever a discussion inside the team about which aspects of Japanese culture to leave in for the sake of realism and which ones to eliminate for the sake of connecting with a largely western audience? I noticed for example that Yamaku doesn't seem to have any shoeboxes and students wear thei...

Whoa is KS fanon really this far developed? This is some Touhou level discourse.

Re: Ask!
Yeah. The point of the question as I understood it was whether we read KS for fun, which I really don't think anyone from 4LS would do (waiting to be proven wrong)

Re: Ask!
First, thank you for the game. It's a really nice game. That's an understatement, but I'm sure I don't need to say anything more. You had enough of that. I have two questions that I believe no one asked yet. First, did any of the devs played the whole game? Like, the last build, the final product. ...

Re: Ask!
You MIGHT have seen a Grid1 video. Grid1 was something like the proto-Act 1, which got massively overhauled because it was a Frankenstein job of joining scenes by the expedient of throwing them together with sufficient force. Backgrounds were different, sprites were by a different artist, several s...

Re: Ask!
For those of us that can't read kanji, what is Emi's father's name? I don't actually remember us ever deciding his name, or writing it down, so you have to give the kanji to me from wherever you found it. If you think the gravestone has his name you're mistaken, it reads "Ibarazaki family's grave" ...

I wouldn't describe us as a "circle of friends from 4chan" either. The only real development costs that come to mind were 1) the hosting, which has been donated to us by a certain awesome friend since 2009 to this day, and 2) everyone's personal equipment: computers, software, tablets, cameras, inte...

Neither Suriko nor Raide have places where they regularly post stuff these days. You can follow Raide on twitter I guess: https://twitter.com/Fiohnel
The links belong to who you think they do, yes.
