Re: Katawa Shoujo Act 1 Preview feedback thread
I don't think we'd have postponed the release even if they didn't though.

Re: Katawa Shoujo Panel at the Manifest Anime Convention
Any long term plans we might or might not have definitely won't include anything that would be affected by convention appearances in any way.

Re: Katawa Shoujo Panel at the Manifest Anime Convention
Wouldn't post-release discussion be way more interesting? There'd be topics other than shit that's been regurgitated for a year+ now, and less necessity for secrecy. That aside, I doubt we'd get (or accept) many invites. The geographic distribution and general mindset of 4LS doesn't really lend itse...

Re: Katawa Shoujo Panel at the Manifest Anime Convention
Thread now returns back to discussing about panels, conventions and the possibility of getting Suriko to sign your (man)boobs or I will lock it and ban everyone.

Re: Katawa Shoujo Panel at the Manifest Anime Convention
I doubt our translators would go that far... anyway I'm not that inclined, I was at Comiket a few years ago, living on the other side of the world makes it less easy to attend though I'm sure it'd be a pretty fun experience to participate on the circle side too. Maybe if someone would go to Japan an...

Re: Katawa Shoujo manga?...
I barely see any mockery of the current fan creations. Why would anyone mock fanfics/pics/doujins.

Re: Hanako's disability is "cheap"?
A few posts in this thread really bring out why we wrote Yamaku to be an all-encompassing institution rather than some "you must be THIS disabled to ride" fun fair. If you think about it, Kenji actually has (some) sight, Shizune and every other literate deaf/mute student can communicate with any per...

Re: Is katawa Shoujo the gateway drug of visual novels?
In many cases I feel that the writer is at least trying, but (at least to me) often the injection of anime tropes, its generic character archetypes, and unnecessarily inflating the story to ridiculous lenghts makes otherwise possibly a decent read completely insufferable. Here's the shopping list fo...

Re: Is katawa Shoujo the gateway drug of visual novels?
Visual novel is a medium of fiction, eroge is just a term for games with porn. There are games that are both (KS), games that are just VNs (narcissu) and games that are have porn but are not VNs (Illusion games). In practice "eroge" usually refers to VNs and dating sims with porn though.

Re: Is katawa Shoujo the gateway drug of visual novels?
So then does anyone have any insight as to where the commercial scene might go to break out of their "niche ghetto"? That's like asking where the fetish porn movie industry scene can go to break out of their niche ghetto. The medium is so tightly coupled with porn, or at least juvenile romance fant...

Re: Is katawa Shoujo the gateway drug of visual novels?
More of a condemnation of the commercial producers who are content to sell products that are badly made with next to no attempt to, as you and THM said, push the technology. Even worse those commercial products which don't even try to reach the level of writing an engaging and entertaining story; i...
