Re: The Manila Tales –A Summer-ish Series (Updated 9/04)
The line about being like an animal should probably come from Akio. Akio didnt give off as many vibes of being smitten in this chapter... Coincidence? Akio might not have the whole picture, but I think he has enough sense not to imply Soon-hee's an animal. Especially with the racial connotations. S...

“I’m more into stouts myself,” Lynda replied, “probably from growing up in cold weather. Generally prefer liquor, too, but that’s beside the point.” Lynda nodded, “I hear that. One of the nice things about Scotland is the beer.” Just the prospect of beer gets her talking to herself? Oops, need to f...

Part II: “I know it’s supposed to be relaxing an all,” Lynda said a little while later, “but it is sort of galling being outsmarted by something that doesn’t even have lungs.” “It is a timeless tale of man against nature,” Hideaki called from the shore, “Of mankind’s constant struggle to assert domi...

Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and he’ll sit in a boat all day and drink beer. I dislike fishing and being in a boat, so I just skip straight to the beer part. Then this Mash probably shouldn't be looking for a career in First Aid training ^^° I take it you are unfamiliar with the 70's TV show known as MASH. Understandable. Or you are making a funny and it went over my head. Of course in the case of a severe concussion (symptoms that include nausea, parti...

Which according to MASH isn't true, but I didn't feel like taking any chances (my tired body felt like taking a risk, apparently.)bhtooefr wrote:There's a belief that falling asleep after receiving a concussion is fatal.

Maybe that’s why I asked if he was okay, even though he had told Refia he was not a minute before. This made me pause a bit, because of the ambiguity. Fiddled with it a bit, hope that helps. You mean agoraphobia, don't you? Claustrophobia is the fear of enclosed spaces. I wouldn't be surprised if s...

Part II: I looked above me and rolled my eyes; Refia was holding out a cracker, trying to tempt one of the surrounding monkeys. Refia sighed and lowered the cracker, nibbling on it and getting crumbs on my head. I’d sweat them off quick enough, so I didn’t mind. “Sorry,” Refia muttered. Sighing in c...

Yes, but because it's a possessive of a plural noun, the apostrophe should be after the "s", not before (so sisters' - or, now, Satous' ). As someone with an S at the end of their name, you'd think I'd know that. But now I do, and knowing is half the battle! The other half is lasers. And thanks :)

Not much to say about this chapter. It’s more a gathering of forces than anything truly interesting going on, though Lynda’s synopsis of meeting Misha was well done. A storm is coming kinda thing, eh. Interesting.... they idled away the time until the sister’s arrival on their cell phones. How many...

Good to here. Hear. I think that's a new one for you ;-) First time for everything, I guess. Fixes made, and thanks. Lilly said, “I see no problems with it.” I would have been very surprised otherwise. (Sorry) The best part is that it's a multi-layered joke. Lilly's classy like that :)
