Re: Weird/silly thoughts while playing KS
CG of Emi on top of Hisao. "Wait, is she cross-eyed? Oh, she's looking at Hisao but his face is no longer my face he's just in the corner of the shot. I guess it's cute otherwise. Wait, her shirt's coming off. Wait, WHY IS THE WINDOW - girl you are stripping in front of an open window, hope you like...

Re: How do you get the most out of this masterpiece?
Personally, i think Emi -> Hanako -> Rin -> Lilly -> Shizune is good. That way the paths that intertwine are spread out a bit and you end with Shizune, which is a bit less emotional imo (but not less good). I think a week between each path is good. I heartily endorse this playthrough order, even if...

Re: Shizune's path
The writer did have other parts of Japanese culture that didn't come up elsewhere in the game (the train system, Tanabata, student cleaning duties) As we are already treading slightly off-topic, might I ask what you mean by those, specifically? (Okay, the festival thing is clear, and I suppose stud...

Re: Shizune's path
Doing that here is trolling, pure and simple. Every country has issues, but mud raking for that here is obvious troll bait. A simple google search would show him where to get that info, if that is what he really wanted. What he wants instead is negative attention, via simple trolling, as seen from ...

Re: Lessons Learned from KS
I just don't like to see people pretend that they're "normal" if it was just the game which convinced them they needed to change, cause maybe they're tackling the wrong issue then. I doubt in most of those circumstances it was just the game. It might not be apparent to them but the game is probably...

Re: Shizune's path
Where some of these issues might stem from looks kind of interesting. I keep seeing reasons to believe that there's a double standard concerning homosexuality. There's tons of information and historical evidence (according to wiki) about male relationships, but very little for females. It suggests t...

Re: Lessons Learned from KS
Sure, it might be "the little things" that kickstart this gradual change, but they don't do a 180 just like that. I've only seen a few extreme cases related to the KS fanbase, so I really doubt most of you have these "groundbreaking revelations". It just seems to be a part of the 'feels' joke; I fe...

Re: Shizune's path
In 1936, Class S stories were banned by the Japanese government.[6] As co-educational schools became more prominent, Class S relationships became more discreet.[1] Hrrmmmm... It's these bits that keep popping up that bother me. On one hand, the law seems to be mostly progressive on the issue (excep...

Re: Shizune's path
Wild speculation ahead... Misha's clearly been lied to by the patriarchal establishment about the properties of magical healing cock. (I know you're joking BUT) Does anyone know what kind of LGBT culture there is in Japan? A quick jaunt over to Wikipedia lists a bunch of areas where there are...

Re: Emotions - Where to proceed from now?
Cheers for that :) I'm actually thinking of giving up KS, period. Not that you'd be particularly interested to know, but i felt drawn to Lily from the moment I reached at her point in Act 1. Emi was also pretty interesting, and both their respective arcs were very fullfilling. To me, Hanako is some...

Re: Other Media that gave you "The Feels."
Oh good lord, I just finished The Desolate Hope . The game plays like an OCD JRPG player's wet dream, and the whole thing has a strong undercurrent of feels. The environments and musical score are carefully calibrated to create a sense of overwhelming loneliness; for example, a sidescrolling portion...

Re: For which character did you feel sad the most?
you mad bro? Nah, just explaining why people might not have felt that bad about her. Well, that and there's a good ending. Although, I do admit calling her a "bitch" was a bit out of line. I guess think of it this way; the fact the Shizune has a personality that can do this to people that she has l...

Re: How Has Katawa Shoujo Changed You If it Has?
It changed me a little bit in a way that has cascaded into other parts of my life. The game itself is sweet and honest, but the real force of it for me was its origins. If this game is remembered positively by anyone outside this community years from now, it'll be a story of a bunch of strangers uni...
