If he wasn't Shizune would be an entirely different character. She really seems to take after her dad (a statement that would probably please neither of them.)

Shizune is hard to relate to in universe. Of course that is intentional, but I suspect that it doesn't exactly help her with the readers either. Her supporting cast really doesn't help either. Well, the idea is kinda nice, but the whole thing felt too neat and clean and sudden.

It complete sidesteps the major issues the characters were going through and many of the less than positive traits that defined them and the whole thing felt rather sudden, still, it's not bad for sugary fluff.

Having paths for Meiko, Akira, or Yuuko seem to stretch credibility a bit, plus I'd much rather have Hisao on more equal footing with whoever he's going to be in a relationship with. Misah could desperately use some help, but at the same time, I don't think she's a viable romantic interest either. S...
