Re: Katawa Shoujo Achievements

I don't need this
Turn the achievement options off and just enjoy the game.

Re: Katawa Zombpocalypse

I've got mixed feeling here. Until the chapter where Misha bit it, the story seemed more silly than serious, despite your attempts otherwise. Even then, things moved along as much to fast of a pace to really build the mood you were probably going for. The explanation at the end really didn't help an...

Re: The 'Wild Speculation About Rin's Past' Thread

Well, this has gotten weird even for this forum's standards.

Re: Bad Dreams (Hanako)

That was really a nice sweet story. To me it seemed rather obvious where it was going, but good all the same.

How to write the characters

This is a discussion that came up elsewhere and I thought it could use a topic of it's own. The discussion was about how to write Rin without being over the top, but I thought it could expand to other characters as well. Now for writing Rin you need to understand that she is a fully functional indiv...

Re: Yamaku Book Club

Those are good notes to writing Rin. Honestly, this is the sort of thing that really deserves it's own topic, I think.

Re: Yamaku Book Club

I explain my distaste of Rin because I once again found myself confused after reading your story. This time, though, it was because I very much liked Rin! I really enjoyed the interplay between Rin and Hisao, and although I definitely got the impression that Rin was still an abnormal and abstract p...

Re: Yamaku Book Club

So, any other thoughts on the story rather than the punctuation in it?

Re: Yamaku Book Club

Generally, ellipses are a vague substitute for the emotion or action the author actually intends. I don't use them as a substitute for anything. If there's an ellipse, usually it means nothing notable is actually happening. If I'm using therm, I don't WANT the scene to be tighter. They make things ...

Re: Hisao Nakai - Thoughts on our protagonist?

And I do wish the devs have given Hisao another interest or two; kinda-sorta liking soccer is not much to hang one's hat on. Other than that, I like the guy. He likes science, particularly sience fiction, reading, and seems to enjoy competing or playing games with other people (but not to win, just...

Thanks guys. Glad you all enjoyed it.

Sorry about the typos, that's something I'm still working on. I was never good with that sort of thing.

Re: Hisao Nakai - Thoughts on our protagonist?

Hisao has a hard role to fill. He has to be his own character and at the same time be the vehicle that the player views the world through. He needs a personality, but he needs to be able to be pliable enough to adapt to several completely different styles of stories. To me, he never feels plain and ...

Re: Submitting of fan fiction: Episodic vs. whole releases

The one time I tried to wait until my story was completed before posting it, my computer messed up and I lost 8 chapters worth of writing, plus notes.
