It would amuse me greatly to see Hisao (or somebody) set things up in order to get Yuuko and Kenji back together only to find out that they don't even know each other. They were both talking about different people.

Honestly, I couldn't care less about word count. Chapter count would be more useful. But if you are going to keep a word count, you might want to have somebody go back through it and type it out right. Chapter 2 goes in the same topic as Chapter 1. Always.

Hisao is not a leader regardless of his relationship. He's a peacekeeper and a helper, but he doesn't take charge unless he has to. He pretty much does what he's told. In Hanako's and Rin's route he pretty much has to be the one to take the lead and ... well... he's not very good at it. Emi's route ...

The characters feel pretty interchangeable to me so far. They just all seem to have the same attitude and personality more or less... and everybody seems to make fun of each other. There's not really much contrast in their personalities from what you've shown us.

Both Shizune and Emi had certain period of developments that grew between both Hisao and his partner, expanding more than a day as official couples. You're getting hung up on the "official" part. At no point in her route does Shizune even act like Hisao is her boyfriend regardless of how much time ...

More or less I'm seeing an over-protective father who is pretty much against anyone who comes close to Shizune.

Sorry. Not seeing it. He seemed just as brash and rude to Misha, Hideaki, and Shizune herself as he did to Hisao.

Shame we never got a scene with him, Lilly, and Akira.

Honestly, I thought that the part where Hisao's started to wear out during the festival was going to eventually lead to the revelation that Hisao simplky couldn't live a lifestyle like Shizune did. His body can't keep up. Sadly, it didn't seem to go anywhere.
