Re: Shizune's Birthday!!!!!
Or you could stop typing everything in square brackets like you're all being interpreted. It's weird and a bit annoying.

Re: Birthday!
As I type this post, it is currently May 6th. On that note, it says on http://katawa-shoujo.com/characters.php#shizune that May 6th is Shizune Hakamichi's Birthday! Let us congratulate everyone's favorite deaf-mute girl by showing our appreciation for her! HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHIZUNE! http://ks.renai.us...

Re: Which Path Should I Take Next? Emi or Shizune?
They're both good, but quite different. Shizune's is more... subtle? Emi is very overt.

Re: Shizune's Birthday!!!!!
I got two cans of Sapporo beer, I forgot how damned tough Japanese beer cans can be (even empty it's still rigid and capable of serious damage). Sushi too.

*doesn't sign, Shizune wouldn't understand*

Re: What ending was the best for Hisao?
With Emi he's the physically fittest, plus one day he'll read about "foreplay" and her ass will be his forever and ever.
With Shizune he's the mentally fittest, plus they have arguably the strongest relationship.

Re: IRL Significant Others
I've told my missus about it. She doesn't mind, she hasn't fallen over herself to play it either. I might ask if she wants to try it later, she does enjoy books. I think those of you getting bad reactions should consider who you're talking to and avoid mentioning one or more of the following things:...

Re: Should the adult content be turned off?
I've read plenty of books and seen plenty of movies where the sex scene is jarring, gratuitous, totally tacked on. I actually stopped reading some books because of it. Likewise movies where for no good reason there's suddenly a sex bit completely out of context. KS has them as part of the story. Tur...

Re: Selecting a path without a walkthrough...
I'm sure it's like that. You see, Hisao is not really the same person in each other the individual paths. The first chapter establishes who Hisao really is. Emi is a go getter girl who believes you always have to push yourself (even when it's foolish to do so), so the only way you'll get along with...

Re: How do deaf people think?
I'll stop here. Even if I'm wrong here, I hope you see my problem. (If you don't, I doubt more examples are going to help.) The conversations read exactly like normal conversation; and that sort of downplays the problems with getting emotions across. I've seen few people sign in real life, but one ...

Re: How do deaf people think?
At a very basic level, you don't need things like 'the' and 'a' to communicate. "Shop go me" (ASL) and "I am going to the shop" (English) both tell you exactly the same thing. That's a very rudimentary example but you can see how sign conveys the crucial elements (as Dawnstorm says, it's more econom...
