Re: Doing things with your feet
Don't forget Nintendo's stillborn follow-up to the oft-maligned Power Glove: the Power Boot. Like the Glove, it used primitive motion controls to execute button macros. You could make Mario run by twisting your ankle to the right, and bounce your heel to make him jump and stomp Goombas. Sadly, the ...

Re: KSG Community Survey - its been a long time
I would say Canada because i may emigrate there. Anyway the last few questions are for lulz only i suppose You mean immigrate. When you go there it's immigrate , when you're leaving the place it's emigrate . So he's correct, then. He's leaving wherever he is to go to Canada. When he arrives, to the...

Re: Hanako's Broken Heart Club
Ugh. I wish I had been spoiled. I got a box of popcorn under the Christmas tree once. Maybe if they'd sued the doctors, I'd be rich right now... I'm an only child. People would always say to me that only children are spoiled and selfish, and I was never sure what they meant (though I did wonder how...

Re: Doing things with your feet
There was a series of letters to Nintendo Power in the early nineties of people playing with their feet. One guy used the NES Advantage (big joystick) and his feet on the A and B buttons. Another guy badly injured his thumb and so used the standard control pad (!!!) and beat almost all his games on ...

Re: Hanako's Broken Heart Club
Why are you guys saying newnar's friends are assholes? They might be joking around a bit but they're also encouraging him to go out and socialize. @newnar: Don't get depressed about this. Take advantage of it. You've already got to go out and try new things, meet new people, this is a good thing. Yo...

Re: We never see Shizune use sign language
I did, although rather quickly. We're basically at the same conclusion, I was just presenting what I could from my own experiences. That said, I wonder at what point should a child using BSL segue into learning full ASL? Say Babysign or something so I don't think you mean British Sign Language :P I...

Re: We never see Shizune use sign language
Finger dexterity might be an issue for babies and toddlers, but my younger cousins were taking classes for basic ASL pre-kindergarten. Did you read the links? They estimate a baby will be able to sign back *something* at about a year old. Again, this isn't full on proper ASL so much as adapting the...

Re: The signing in Shizune's cinematic
I'm pretty sure this has been asked before, and it's been confirmed either by the devs or Mike Inel who made the cinematic (or both) that it doesn't mean anything in particular. I might be misinformed, however. It might be why Misha laughs (as if she needs an excuse) that he's nearly said something...

Re: We never see Shizune use sign language
IIRC they generally teach Signed English though, as opposed to ASL. Shame, otherwise there could be a bunch of babies who grow up knowing ASL. :p One of the links cited ( this one ) specifically says ASL. Given the idea is that your baby is just going to be making a single sign for 'cookie' I'm not...

Re: We never see Shizune use sign language
Meanwhile there's hearing parents with hearing babies who teach them sign/gestures so they can communicate before the baby is able to communicate with speech. Instead of crying and the parents offering the bottle/hug/new diaper, the baby is able to communicate a desire specifically for food/drink/sl...

Re: We never see Shizune use sign language
It wouldn't be appropriate to accept these as gospel, seeing as how they were just the first things I could Google, but Deaf Culture being a more recent development in Japan might be relevant to what we are discussing here. Would Shizune have not gotten a cochlear implant because of the nature of h...

Re: Sign-Names
Apart from that you've come full circle back to the fact that you can't give yourself a nickname, it gets picked for you. I think you're missing the hypothetical part of the question. This is personal speculation, not directive. No, I understand entirely. I've told you why I don't want to speculate...

Re: Just finished the game... (major spoilers)
@The OP: Great post, especially about seeing your new flame too much early on, when you're thrilled to have them and see them but not sure what to do once they're there. Those bits where Hisao announces 'weeks pass during exams' or similar are a bit annoying but if he really doesn't see them then I ...
