Re: Hanako's Broken Heart Club

So it turns out I'm jealous and an asshole, and unattractive. Some background: I'm 33, I'm a mature student at college studying ASL. My girlfriend and I have been together for 12 years. However, she has very low libido which frustrates us both. Doctors haven't found anything wrong, so we're stuck fo...

Re: Do you have any disabled friends?

This "deaf culture" is bullshit. Yes, its nice that people with similar problems can understand each other and have something in common, but believing that is better than be able to hear. There's so much more to Deaf Culture than that, and it's not about thinking you're better than hearing people b...

Re: Do you have any disabled friends?

A close friend at college has been deaf in one ear since she was about six.

When I was in high school doing co-op (work experience) in the IT department I used to have a regular visitor, a blind girl who had a cool Braille display for her laptop.

Re: 29 year old hearing for the first time

I call shenanigans somewhere... This comment on the video, if true, explains a lot: I agree that if she was completely deaf before it could not be possible but this person was not completely deaf before. Her hearing was 85 dB down which is profound hearing loss. She could hear her own voice inside....

Re: The death of Misha... *MASSIVE SPOILERS*

So people never kill themselves because they are sad in real life? Of course they do. But Misha is a strong enough person that she'd survive the experience.[/quote] She'd survive killing herself? I jest, but that's how I interpreted it the first time. People kill themeselves in real life because th...

Re: Hanako's Broken Heart Club

Okay, okay, Maybe I'm thinking of older people and long term relationships. But I just think you should get to know a person and find out if you have similar interests in common and maybe do fun stuff together before you start trotting out words like "love" or "girlfriend". You don't trot those out...

Sounds to me like a rerun of Jerry Springer on 'Southside gangstas and their bitches' day.

Re: Shizune Arc

I have, but from what i remember from the route, it didn't have that "one thing led to another moment". The second the choice is made to comfort Misha, the whole sex scene just comes out of no where. Their was no progression that led to it, just a "Hisao, please comfort me :(", than Hisao goes like...

Re: Shizune Arc

- The "Comfort or not to comfort Misha choice". I can not tell you how much this pissed me off. Since when did comforting a person mean HAVING SEX WITH THEM!? What in the actual hell!? I thought comforting meant maybe hugging her a bit, or just talking and staying with her...being their for her. Bu...

Re: Shizune Arc

Right, question: The whole Jigoro thing gets a lot of airtime because Jigoro himself is larger than life, and all the bluster is easy to make jokes about. Yes, Hisao is whiny, but Shizune has a facade of her own that she puts up. What's interesting is watching Hisao and Shizune help each other out ...

That, combined with the mental illness angle, is basically One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest.

I like Eris, but even with just BPD (no multiple personalities) it would be a roller coaster of feels so harrowing it might destroy us all.

Taking the chance of further presenting myself ignorant and derailing the thread, but i am curious ;): Do regular sign users feel their gestures while thinking in words/talking in their head, just as voice based speakers may hear their words? How about while reading? A good question, and one covere...
