Re: Stranded on a deserted island. Who do you want with you
I'd imagine any use of objects would be limited by being on a deserted island. And presenting things in the 'target language' is completely useless when the person doesn't know anything of the target language in the first place. :P At the most, she could sign something then write out the meaning in...

Re: Hey, it's almost Father's Day now
I'm guess I'm lucky to have a good dad. We don't have the most amazing relationship, though it's improved now that I'm older. He is very convinced of his own opinions and ideas, which grates against my much more laid back personality (he doesn't carry a sword, though) I say 'lucky' as I know people ...

Because she's so meek and demure and non-threatening.
She's all quiet and bookish and doesn't socialize and is shy.Romantically inexperienced neckbeards Many soon-to-be KS fans go ZOMG JUST LIKE ME and are drawn to this.

Re: Emi inspired running/workout
Aren't they those weird sock things people have on their legs with the hole for the knee? I've always wondered about how they worked. I mean, it's a goddamn knee-tube  I have a velcro knee support, and an elasticated ankle support. The knee I can explain (don't crash motorcycles, kids, it hurt...

That was harrowing. I am glad you've come out of it feeling positive because I cannot begin to imagine you feeling you'd thrown it all away in one stupid moment.

Re: Notable non-KS disabled characters
I remember that episode. I remember him getting very upset for the (real world too) faux pas of speaking to the interpreter instead of the person who is being interpreted for. There's Linda the Librarian (we recently discussed her in the sign language thread) off Sesame Street, who I remember for te...

Re: Emi inspired running/workout
We did 30km today! A mixture of trails, roads, paths and a little bit of offroading. I hate the handgrips on the handlebars, they are roughly textured which is hard on the hands, but apart from that, the bike is cool. That combined with the 12km we walked on Friday means I am just about ready to fal...

Re: Emi inspired running/workout
Aaah, I love cycling, though my bike is an absolute crapbox due to me not oiling it :'/ You gonna use it primarily for recreation or for getting about? :) Recreation. The streets around here are quite busy, I don't want to ride on them too much if I can help it. I used to use a bicycle to get aroun...
