As moving and disturbing as things got towards the end, this closing line had me chuckling.

I do feel that this kind of story could be even further expanded upon. It's hard to justify Hisao's large influence in their lives as is, as it essentially assumes an ending that cannibalizes portions of several routes, with Hanako's bad ending being at the center. I've lightened up a bit regarding the premise... the second chapter did add some needed context, which was better to present once Hisao wasn't as enraged as on the roof.

I can't picture this ending happily, unless that happens to be the point. At any rate, it will definitely be an interesting read.

Congrats, I certainly enjoyed the story through and through. In the end I think Katsuro proved to be a likable character. And evidently, that makes you a likable person, no?

I like this story. Its pretty funny. Forgive my stupidity, but I'm slightly confused as to why he cares if Lilly & Akira are there. He hasn't confirmed that he was Hanako's boyfriend yet, so why is he nervous? If he had declared that they were a couple, then that would cause some nervousness. I don...

I am admittedly confused. Is he already technically a thing with Hanako? Is he two-timing her? Or he completely unaware of the ramifications that taking someone on a date implies?

I can't say that I'm a fan of the premise, but the writing quality is certainly superb as usual.

Maybe you could make it as "it's a wonderful life" style tale where Hisao winds up seeing what would have happened if he hadn't come to Yamaku, and is given a chance to make things right.
