Re: Least favorite girl?

Does this possibly least favourite girl have any good writing in the medium-to-large range? For my money, the best Rin stories are the ones by cosmicmustache, but the only one that's of any length is Osmosis, which isn't really about Rin per se -- which is quite appropriate when one thinks about it...

Re: 'What if Hanako..?' Thread

She probably has razor blades hidden in her hair and rolls of yen coins in her pockets. Standard issue.

Re: The Saki Topic

Well, to be fair on themocaw, he kinda dropped the story before Saki's metamorphosis from bitch to not-bitch occurred.

Her "canon" bio hardly calls her anything of the sort, but it's certainly one way to go with it.

Re: Yamaku Book Club (Now Reading: Weekend at Hisao's)

This was one of the first fanfics I read on here. It was almost right after I had binged through everybody's routes. Shizune's had decidedly been my least favorite in the end, and that's a sentiment that I know now that a lot of people on here share. Part of the reason for me was that I did not much...

Re: Yamaku Book Club (Now Reading: Weekend at Hisao's)

I'd complain about it being another high-profile one, but hey, that would just be for the sake of complaining.

It's definitely worth something talking about.

Re: Yamaku Book Club (Now Reading: The Decision)

I am not going to lie - Lilly used to be my favorite girl. Many manly tears were shed when I first got to that sickeningly sweet epilogue of hers. But then a few things changed. In particular, the fact that she knew she might be leaving for Scotland all along, before their relationship even began. T...

Re: Developments (Post-Lilly Neutral End) - Chapter 39 up 4/

I am most interested in seeing how Hisao will react to Emi. This makes twice now that it seems like he was going to "choose" her, but neither attempt came from his point of view. Out of the girls, right now Hanako seems to be becoming the strongest. However, that does not necessarily mean she is the...

Re: Developments (Post-Lilly Neutral End) - Chapter 39 up 4/

Your interpretation of Lilly surprises me... Her original path is all about being open about one's feelings, but in this story she seems to be the character who has the most problems talking about her feelings - more than even Hanako. It almost feels like you're... deconstructing her character. Int...

Re: Griffon8's Writing | New: We DeepEnd On Each Other

Ah, okay. The "being this drunk isn't helping" gave me the impression that the beer goggles were in addition to the aforementioned "I can barely see anything." It's just worded in a way that suggests that the speaker already has trouble seeing. And I don't know if Hisao would so far as to say that K...

Re: Griffon8's Writing | New: We DeepEnd On Each Other

Hm. I could not really buy this as being from Hisao's point of view. None of the details seem ambiguous enough to give me the impression that could be anyone asides from Kenji.

Re: Yamaku Book Club (Now Reading: Shower Scenes)

Do you have something in mind?

I mean, any discussion regarding a fanfic can be as dynamic as the commenters make it. I don't think it has to be monotonous.

Re: Yamaku Book Club (Now Reading: Shower Scenes)

Naturally, this one was well-written, but I was not really a huge fan of it. Of course, this comes from the guy who dislikes those fanservice bathhouse chapters you get in every certain manga and anime series. I don't think it's an entirely wrong parallel, even though the medium is obviously differe...

Re: Developments (Post-Lilly Neutral End) - Chapter 38 up 4/

As she did in the VN, Emi has some serious issues to deal with here. Problem is, I can't even guess as to how she is going to do so. In her route, it took nothing less than Hisao outright confessing his love to get through to her. Here though, she is shutting down not just for her own benefit, but f...

Re: Yamaku Book Club (Now Reading: A bowl of noodles . . .)

I have to be contrary and say that this was probably the highlight of the Saki compilation for me. In the VN, Mutou has little to no depth. We see nothing of his personal life, or of his motivation. For the most part, all we see is that he is tired all the time, somewhat awkward, passionate about hi...
