Re: Saki meets Rika

Live fast, die young, bad girls do it well? *runs out the back door* I liked it. I feel like these two are always paired together as another one of the VN's duos but their dynamic here is completely different from that between any of the other girls. For some reason I got a Mean Girls or Heathers vi...

Re: Yamaku Book Club (Meeting/Hisao Final Week Approach)

Hm. Has anyone ever addressed Hisao's grandfather in a fanfic? It's a really, really tenuous connection, but IIRC, in Rin's route he mentions that his umbrella once belonged to him, or was given to him by him, etc. I could totally be making that up, though - it's been forever since I've read the rou...

Re: Yamaku Book Club (Meeting Resumed 06 June 2015)

I thought it was a bit creepy. I mean, I understand the premise, and I like it. It came off as ridiculously meta, but only because it was supposed to, I believe. Some of the dialogue felt just a little too inorganic though. But maybe I just haven't been in the workforce long enough to ship my studen...

Re: Yamaku Book Club (Meeting Resumed 03 June 2015)

Wait, I actually accidentally recommended our next fic? And I neglected to actually comment on it? Whoops. But yeah, I really liked it. Even reading back on it now, it is still written in such a way that you might be convinced that Akira is actually there. Harking back to the discussion about twists...

Re: Yamaku Book Club (Meeting In Progress 25 May 2015)

Hisao's kind of a difficult one. Though I guess it could be argued that any fic in which he stars, isn't focused around pairing him with another character, and that builds up his own character without completely borrowing on lessons learned from the girls. One example I could think of is, uh. Uh......

Re: Yamaku Book Club (Meeting In Progress 25 May 2015)

Have to agree with Blank Mage again.

If I had to pick a story from just KS fiction to use as a decent example, I'd have to choose Hisao and Akira Avoid The Family (even though it borrows heavily from a Scrubs episode).

Re: Yamaku Book Club (Meeting In Progress 25 May 2015)

I have stated before my distaste with twist endings, particularly the kind that involve tossing in a single sentence that abruptly changes the context of the entire story. A proverbial punch to the gut, that makes one feel almost cheated. But never mind that for a moment. I want to talk about that f...

Re: Healing (Hanako, post-bad ending) (complete)

I do feel that this is one of the more reasonable follow ups to Hanako's bad end. Hisao takes the initiative, but his approach is honest, subdued, and perhaps most importantly, puts everything into Hanako's hands, just as the text message in her good ending did. I had mixed feelings about her reacti...

Re: Developments (Post-Lilly Neutral End) - Int5 posted 12/2

A little late to the party! Or rather, couldn't find the time to comment before. I thought this was a nice little segue into what's coming ahead. Meiko and Nurse being a thing is pretty much a cliche at this point, but I thought you pulled it off well enough. I guess it makes sense that they would p...

Re: Developments (Post-Lilly Neutral End) - Ch.55 posted 12/

Uh. I am really not sure what the big deal is. The H-scene didn't seem like it was written in such a way that it was meant to be titillating. Hell, it was actually one of the more tasteful (or as Mirage said, elegant ) sex scenes I've seen written in a fanfic. I thought that Emi's thoughts during th...

Re: Developments (Post-Lilly Neutral End) - Ch.54 posted 11/

On my first read through of the chapter I found Natsume's attitude utterly insufferable. On the second time around, I found her a lot more sincere. Strange. I know she is lamenting over it, but I might have missed how they were of any help at all in "securing" Hisao's love. Hanako's inability to get...

Re: How good is Hanako at chess?

Not terribly good I imagine, but she is definitely better at it in her own route, I think. At that point she actually strives to improve her technique, rather than just playing out of sentiment as Shizune suggested she does. Assuming she was correct, at least.

Nonsense. She just sucks them into her body. Kind of like a snail does with its eye stalks.

Re: The Official KS Headcanon Thread

Headcannon: I think that Rin is an illegitimate child born from an affair. Can't provide any proof of it in the route, but it was kindof always something I associated with her in my head. With a thalidomide junkie, maybe? God knows how else her parents thought using that drug was a good idea in the...
