Re: Emi inspired running/workout

A friend of mine (who btw looks and acts like Emi, no shittin', but she already has a boyfriend for years ><) invited me to run a race in 4 weeks. It's a 5km race, so i should be able to make it, since i'm now at week 7 of the program. Should i go for it? I'm a bit hesitating because i don't want e...

Re: Emi inspired running/workout

Great! Any questions or comments, we'll hear it gladly. Also, if you want, someone of us can send u an invite for the KS group on fitocracy as well. (though i like the discussions here more) How is the fitocracy thing going? I hate achievement game junk so I did not join up yet but because its you ...

Re: Emi inspired running/workout

Part of me wants to point out that if something hurts, there's a reason for it. However, if it were me, I'd do the same thing (and I have). My left leg was getting a little sore around the achilles tendon during a run on Wednesday, but on Friday it was fine. Yea normally I would investigate and see...

Re: Emi inspired running/workout

You are burning fat continuously anyway, only the amount varies. If you run on empty stomach, you just burn the glycogen reserves instead of blood sugar as a primary energy source, that's all. Light snack is fine, empty stomach isn't too bad either if you don't overreach, just be sure to eat someth...

Re: Emi inspired running/workout

Well, i just started this running routine. As i write this i am now wearing my running clothes and my legs are burning, lets see how this turns out in the next few weeks, i was not inspired by Emi, shes silly, but after reading about lots of positive experiences in this thread, i had to try it. Wel...

Re: Emi inspired running/workout

Music. I can't tell you guys enough how much music helps me in so many ways. I find it's good to pick a relaxing, but not too slow, of a playlist. That's just me though, and I suspect everyone's tastes vary. This. I always need music when working out. I personally listen to DnB, Electro, basically ...

Re: Emi inspired running/workout

You guys rock, I'm gonna start running this emi running thing as well as I do some other stuff like sit ups and push ups and playing dance machine games again. Anyone have a fitocrazy invite? I've only just started out and the Emi route was my first one and made me put my life in perspective. So I'...

Re: Emi inspired running/workout

Tea brewed in a french press is just a bit stronger than the one stepped in a teapot with enough room for the leaves to unroll, but not tastier. Oolong is maybe the most varied type of tea, both in looks and in taste. Definitely give it a try. Allow the water to cool down for a few minutes just in ...

Re: Emi inspired running/workout

Juice is often just as bad as soda, since it has little nutritional value compared to whole fruit, and high sugar content. If you're really trying to lose weight, do your best to drink no calories. (In other words, stick to only water, tea, and coffee.) Diet soda and *sugar free* juice is something...

Re: Emi inspired running/workout

Why don't you directly go for a heart rate monitor instead of a simple wristwatch? As for undershirts, try to use function cloth if possible and not cotton stuff. Cotton soaks in sweat. Yea I'll have to agree with them on the HRM instead of the wristwatch. Simple because getting the most out of any...

Re: Emi inspired running/workout

Does anyone else have exercise-induced asthma due to winter air? I feel like I have to cough my lungs out :( Yea I have the same kind of triggers for my asthma. Yea it's normal. Personally I take breaks, small minute to minute and a half breaks to catch my breath/drink some water. Basically your lu...

Re: Emi inspired running/workout

You could get on a beginner's strength programme. Starting Strength and Stronglifts 5x5 will probably work for your purposes, and you can supplement them with more sport-specific exercises if you're also interested in improving your ability at hockey. Things like agility drills (agility ladders, do...

Re: Emi inspired running/workout

I don't know about eating before. Guess we need someone more experienced to judge us on that. To answer your question, it depends. A full course meal is a given of something you should avoid before any workout since your body will need energy and time to digest your meal. Say consuming something li...
