Re: Why are you still here and enjoying KS after all this ti

Why should I stop liking a story just because it's been out five years?

I also enjoy reading other books that are more than a hundred years old.

Re: Iwanako short/one shot - The Cold Letter

One past tense in an otherwise present tense story Clothes lay in messy piles and a stray apostrophe that he let's go but otherwise the writing is very good. Also the depiction of Iwanako's emotions is very strong - maybe a bit TOO strong several months after it happened, but excellently written non...

Re: Cup and Saucer: A Rika Fan Route

No complaints about British English - I prefer to use it myself.
Apart from the prepositions and the is/it typo already pointed out here's one more case of past tense:
I took a long sip of tea,

Re: Cup and Saucer: A Rika Fan Route

We're going star gazing to celebrate the vernal equinox
The vernal equinox has a fixed date (MAR 20th). This story is currently in June, so it could possibly be summer solstice - that would be about three weeks after HIsao's arrival.

Re: Cup and Saucer: A Rika Fan Route

Sometimes you inexplicably slip into past tense for a while, e.g. here: Wordlessly, I ducked under her umbrella and stood beside her, and sometimes (rarely) the prepositions are a bit wonky, like here: weren't feeling at yourself but overall the writing is very good. I also like the story so far - c...

Re: Letting go of the past - an Emi route.

Now there is one problem with this, which is something I will do my best to avoid. Emi already has a route in the game, so I really have no choice but to follow it to an extent, so you may find some chapters lacking because you've seen it before, but I hope the moments from my own thoughts will mak...

Nice to see you're back.
Seems the changes to previous chapters really were minor, since I didn't find myself inconvenienced by not rereading them :-)

Re: Letting go of the past - an Emi route.

Okay, for starters, Hisao's backstory being less developped than the others' in the VN is more or less intentional, since in a VN the protagonist is usually meant to be the placeholder for the reader. Also he's not supposed to steal the spotlight fro the heroines. Of course it's your right not to be...

Re: TheDwarfLard's One-Shots (Updated 28/1/2017)

The biggest surprise was the "well over a year" at the end.
With the way Hanako has changed as compared to the VN, I'd expected this to be set WAY further in the future.

Well, we were forbidden to include any kind of valuation in the entries, but anything that doesn't have a "Warning" should be safe to read. Also, if you have your favourite pairing you can also find that there.

Also there's the Book Club, if you want to hear other people's opinions about stories.

Also recommending a look into the library.

It should contain most of the noteworthy stories here and you can see whether or not they are finished.

Not quite up to date, though...

Re: Cup and Saucer: A Rika Fan Route

Well, first person writing is very much just a style of writing, but I'm not terribly sure what you mean here. Rika doesn't understand what her problem is, that's largely her issue. There's no secret kept from the reader, you understand as much about her situation as she does. There's also quite lo...

Re: Cup and Saucer: A Rika Fan Route

Okay, commenting as I go along... - You use apostrophes instead of quotation marks, which makes me try to read all dialogue as interior monologue first. A bit inconvenient, but I'll get used to it. - The segue into the flashback in Chapter 1 is too abrupt. You should start a new scene there by addin...
