Yeah... And it's all just to spite us poor translators ^^°Aura wrote:(btw it's totally hilarious coming up with the 250+ pretty much totally arbitrary names needed for this game)

Hmm. I didn't read that many VN's yet... So far the only one with the True End/Good End formula was Tsukihime.

OK, let's just say, I understand, why you had problems writing that scene.

I don't know anything about Japanese, Japanese has only two tenses: present and past.
I just know that Hebrew only has four tenses, and even that's kind of a stretch (past, present, future, and imperative).
Imperative is not a tense, it's a mood . Most of the times the only way to k...

Re: Short Alternate Universe... I guess you can call it a scene?
English has way too many tenses, you know? I do. German has the same number of tenses. Japanese is SO easy in comparison ;-) And about lines that aren't Lilly, that's a very interesting point. Can you elaborate a little more? Because I think that's even more important than the language right now. A...

Of course, it is his story, but I think his intention was to keep the characters as close to the original as possible.
And for the most part it worked - Lilly is still recognizable as Lilly, but some lines just don't fit her.

Re: Short Alternate Universe... I guess you can call it a scene?
I don't think a story absolutely needs plot. If your goal was to convey feelings and emotions, that's okay, too. I have to agree that there are a lot of things that could be done better. I think the main issue is something you said yourself: When writing a story, it isn't important to write a lot in...

Re: Traduttore = traditore
I'd like to add that the most difficult (and fun) part of KS to translate are not Rin's lines but the chapter titles.
Some of those cannot be translated at all; you have to come up with completely new ones.

Re: My idea of each KS Girl's fetish
As the focus of KS is going to be romance, I don't expect to see many (if any) of those in the finished work.
...but wouldn't it be ironic, if Shizune had a voice fetish and never knew?

I hope you don't mind a triple post^^° Chapter 44 (Throwing Balls): In the previous chapter (Don't Panic) it says that Hisao slept until "almost noon" Then after his encounter with Kenji and meeting Shizune and Misha: "It's still light outside, but the sun is getting ready to set behind the trees." ...
