Bit of advice: DON'T colour-code spoken text! It looks like a cop-out and it isn't even necessaary in this first chapter. Also some passages in the first half are inexplicably past tense, e.g.: Even though he had not been to the office at all today, or scheduled any meetings, or even conducted any p...

a) what's in the VN and
b) what one of the devs expicitly declared to be canon here in the forums or on the blog. Best source for that would probably the "Ask"-Thread.

It's a better fit, but I'd rather say, it is a piece of Narrative Filigree that makes a second appearance, since it does not influence the plot in the slightest.

There's quite a bit of a difference there, since Kenji has never been in love with him.
