Basically anyone who starts Katawa Shoujo expecting a game will be disappointed. It doesn't have enough interactivity for people like that. It's a novel and you don't expect any gameplay from a novel that transcends page-turning either. But... What's the point of including KS in this podcast anyway?...

Also I am aware that some things contradict canon in both works...

I don't think Lilly was lying. It's perfectly reasonable if her mother has problems with japanese names. Those are written in Kanji.
