Xanatos wrote:Who is Piro and why should I care?
You don't have to care, but the links I provided should enable anyone who doesn't know to find out.

Piro is the author of a webcomic about two American guys who get stranded in Tokyo.
If you like Hoitash's wacky stories, you should give it a try.

Re: Hanako and Hisao –Road to Tokyo Updated 6/26

Ah, now I see what my mistake was: I didn't realize the default setting of google maps was using trains instead of cars.^^° Very strange. Usually, if I wanted to travel by train, I'd plan the route not on GM but on the site of whoever sells the tickets. Anyway, I like it if small details like that a...

Re: Hanako and Hisao –Road to Tokyo Updated 6/26

I'd mention once it is a "japanese style room" and then refer to it simply as a bedroom. Alternatively you could just describe it in detail. Look at the pictures in the link for inspiration.
It's always nice to see other authors actually do research as well. Where DO they start their journey anyway?

Re: Hanako and Hisao –Road to Tokyo Updated 6/26

“Anyone else appreciating the irony that we just drove eight hours to go somewhere half of us live?” Eight hours? Where did they start driving? On Kyushu? Even factoring in lots of rest breaks that time seems excessive. With a smile aimed my way he lead Lilly to the shotgun seat, While I gues you c...

Piro's Blog

So I've just returned from a prolonged archive binge at Megatokyo...

Seems Piro has undergone heart surgery last month, and guess what he did while recuperating in the hospital.
He also gives an extensive shoutout to Katawa Shoujo in his last blog.

Re: Flowing Red - Rika Route [6/23]

I didn't mind skipping the small talk in the slightest. The conversation didn't lack any essential components, and nothing drags a story down like endless dialogues where nothing is really said. Sure, you can use stuff like that to establish personality or to cram in funny banter, but if the former ...

Re: Flowing Red - Rika Route [6/23]

Hey, look at it this way: It is only the second Rika route - compared to dozens of Hanako or Lilly epilogues out there - and it is easily different enough from the first one not to be boring.
And your Rika has the potential to be way more likeable than the other one.

Re: Recommend a VN

A couple of years ago I first stumbled upon a mention of some upcoming Visual Novel called Katawa Shoujo. That was on the blog of Piro from Megatokyo . So maybe it's appropriate that I recommend his upcoming Visual Novel here... It's already funded, including all stretch goals save for the "excessiv...

And she kinda does do the "right thing" when she tells him about the summons.
Lilly doesn't tell him. Akira does.

Re: Searching for a Certain Someone

In a nutshell, Type 1 diabetes is the inability of the body to produce insulin, the stuff that breaks down blood sugar. That means that people suffering from that are prone to extremely high blood sugar levels if they do not get their regulat insulin shots. If it gets so high they keel over, you don...

Re: Oh Lilly... what's wrong with me?

I find it hard to see why people would get mad at Lilly for that stuff and not be upset with Hanako and Emi for also holding back some major information. Both Hanako and Emi have deep-rooted emotional problems. Hanako has difficulties even talking to people about the book she's currently reading, l...

Re: Flowing Red - Rika Route [6/23]

Nice chapter.
Towards the end a couple of typos or misplaced commas slipped in - especially in the fireworks paragraph.
Drop me a PM if you need any help finding them.

Re: Searching for a Certain Someone

- I know your tendency towards endless run-on sentences has gotten a lot better since you started writing here. Still there are a lot of sentences in this chapters with two or more subordinate clauses - mostly "to", "so" or "as." It's as if your main character has to justify each and every action he...
